Mineral Lease to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and the regulations
thereunder for the granting and issue of mineral
leases, it is hereby notified that it is intended, after
the expiration of thirty days from the publication of
this notice, to grant a lease for coal-mining purposes
to the applicants and for the land specified in the
Schedule hereto.

The application, together with plans and papers in
connection therewith, may be seen at the Crown
Lands Office, Dunedin.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: John Shannon and others.
Style under which it is intended to conduct the
business: "The Maniototo Coal Company."
Locality: Section 3, Block V., Blackstone.
Area: 200 acres.
Term applied for: Thirty years.
Mining District: Dunstan.

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.

IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-
tions made under that Act for the granting of leases
for gold-mining purposes, it is hereby notified that it
is intended to grant leases of Crown lands for gold-
mining purposes to the applicants specified in the
annexed Schedule, unless there shall be valid objec-
tions against such leases.

Objections to the granting of such leases, stating
the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Westport on or
before the 21st day of September, 1882.

Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Westport.

SCHEDULE.

APPLICANTS: Joseph Kelly and party. Style under
which it is intended to conduct the business:
"Aurora Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres 2
roods, north of and adjoining the Comet Company's
application, Mokihinui, in the Nelson South-West
Mining District.

which it is intended to conduct the business: "The
Sovereign Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres 2
roods, north of and adjoining the Cascade Creek
Company's application, Mokihinui, in the Nelson
South-West Mining District.

under the provisions of "The Land Transfer Act,
1870," unless caveat be lodged forbidding the same in
each case on or before the 25th day of September next.
