Land taken for a Portion of the Foxton-New Ply-
mouth Railway.-Hukatere-Manutahi Section (Por-
tion of).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the
authority of sections one hundred and twenty-
two, one hundred and twenty-three, and one hundred
and twenty-four of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
the middle line of a portion of the line of railway
from Foxton to New Plymouth, being one of the
railways specified in "The Public Works Act, 1879,"
was defined: And whereas pursuant to the one
hundred and twenty-fifth section of "The Public
Works Act, 1876," the Minister for Public Works
has caused to be made and, on the twentieth day
of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty,
to be deposited in the office of the Registrar of
Supreme Court at New Plymouth, in the Provincial
District of Taranaki, such maps and plans as were
necessary to explain the said portion of the said line
of railway and the land through which the same
passes, and such maps and plans were referred to in
such Proclamation as aforesaid: And whereas "The
Public Works Act, 1879," enacts that such of the
railways mentioned therein as are unfinished may be
completed under the provisions of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," "The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment
Act, 1878," and "The Public Works Act, 1879:"
And whereas the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken for a part of the said
portion of the said line of railway:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Admin-
istrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, in exercise of the powers and authorities
conferred by the sixth section of "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and of every power
and authority in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the land described in the Schedule hereto
is taken for the said part of the said portion of the
said line of railway.

SCHEDULE.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 5 acres and 20 perches, being portion of
Section 475; commencing at north-east corner of said
section. Bounded-South-easterly by Kakaramea
Road, 447 links; South-westerly by lines, 1586 and
398 links respectively; North-easterly by a road,
1922 links, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 1 acre 3 roods 4 perches, being
portion of a road; commencing at south-east corner
of Section 474 on Kakaramea Road. Bounded-
South-easterly by Kakaramea Road, 93 links;
South-westerly by Section 475, 1662 links, and by
other portion of road 249 links; North-easterly by
Section 474, 1897 links, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 3 acres and 38 perches, being portion of
Section 474; commencing at a point on the Garsed
Road 707 links from the north-west corner of said
section. Bounded-Generally North-easterly by lines,
1143, 251, 202, 252, 191, and 457 links respectively;
South-westerly by a road 349 links, and by lines 761,
157, and 1188 links respectively; Westerly by the
Garsed Road, 130 links, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 1 acre and 10 perches, being portion of
Section 454; commencing at a point on the north-
eastern boundary of said section 627 links from
the Garsed Road along south-west boundary of Sec-
tion 453. Bounded-North-easterly by lines, 399 and
511 links respectively; Easterly by the Garsed Road,
130 links; South-westerly by lines, 518, 503, and 111
links respectively; Northerly by Section 453, 148
links, to commencing point.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 2 acres 2 roods 2 perches, being portion
of Section 453; commencing at a point on the south-
western boundary of said section 627 links from
Garsed Road. Bounded-Generally North-easterly
by lines, 109, 1197, 165, and 685 links respectively;
Northerly by a stream; South-westerly by lines, and
