NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-RACE.

To the Mining Registrar at Clyde of the Otago Gold Fields Mining District, and all other persons whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-race and divert water, pursuant to the provisions of section 31 of “The Mines Act, 1877,” commencing at a point in the Waikerikeri Creek about 300 yards below crossing on Black’s Road, and terminating at the Molyneux River, about half a mile below Muttontown Gully.

The length of such race is one mile or thereabouts, and its intended course is north and south; the mean depth of such race is 2 feet, and the mean breadth is 1 foot; and it is proposed to divert two Government-heads of water.

And further take notice that it is intended to construct a reservoir in connection with the said race on eastern bank of the Waikerikeri, about 200 yards below the head of said race; the length of bank to be 15 yards; the greatest height, 10 feet; the greatest breadth of base, 12 feet; the area about one-quarter of an acre, with a bywash communicating with the Waikerikeri Creek.

The time required for the construction and completion of such race is two months.

The length of such race is four miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is north-east and south-west.

The race is already constructed.

The mean depth of such race is 1 foot, and the mean breadth is 1 foot 6 inches, and it is proposed to divert one Government-head of water.

Dated at Clyde, this 27th day of July, 1882.

To the Mining Registrar at Naseby of the Mount Ida Mining District, and all persons whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a Water-race and divert water for domestic and irrigation purposes; the race to commence at a point on a branch of the stream known as the March Creek,

situated on Section 33, Block IX., of the Strath Taieri Survey District, and to be carried thence through Section 32, Block IX, of the same survey district, and through that part of the said Section 32 presently held as the glebe of the Strath Taieri School; and from thence across or under a district road running through the Strath Taieri Plain in the direction of north and south, or nearly so; from thence through Section 71, Block IX., across or under another district road running east and west, or nearly so, through the Township of Middlemarch into Section 39, Block IX.; from thence through Section 50, Block IX., into Section 53, Block IX, crossing the district road, running east and west, or nearly so, a second time; from thence back into the original stream at a point about 250 yards from its junction with the Taieri River.

Total length, about 2¼ miles.

Mean depth, about 2 feet.

Mean width, 18 inches at bottom, and 2 feet 6 inches at top; and it is proposed to divert and carry ten Government-heads of water.

Time required for completion, six months.
