Appointing Day for Election of Members of Board
North Taieri Road District, County of Taieri.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the persons entitled to vote at the
election of a member for the North Plain
Subdivision of the North Taieri Road District failed
to hold an election on the day appointed by "The
Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," and it is expedient to
appoint a day for holding the said election, as is pro-
vided by the tenth section of "The Otago Roads
Ordinance 1871 Amendment Ordinance, 1874:"
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the
said Ordinances, and by "The Abolition of Provinces
Act, 1875," do hereby proclaim and appoint that an
election of two members for the North Plain Sub-
division of the said road district shall be held on
Saturday, the twelfth day of August, one thousand,
eight hundred and eighty-two.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
first day of August, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

Act, 1882."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fourth day of July, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in him by "The West Coast
Peace Preservation Act, 1882," His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby
order and direct that John Patrick Ward, at present
residing near the City of Nelson, Acting Warder,
shall keep each of the persons named Te Whiti and
Tohu, in the said Act particularly mentioned, in
custody within the Provincial District of Nelson,
until further or other order shall be made in that
behalf under the said Act.
And for his so doing this shall be sufficient warrant
and authority.

graph Act, 1875."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-fourth day of July, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers vested in
him by "The Electric Telegraph Act, 1875," and
of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, His
Excellency the Administrator of the Government of
the Colony of New Zealand doth, with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
make the regulation contained in the Schedule hereto
in relation to the charges to be made for the trans-
mission of telegrams; and, in further pursuance and
exercise of the said powers, and with the like advice
and consent as aforesaid, doth hereby order and
declare that such regulation shall take effect on and
after the fifth day of August, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two, and that it shall be read with
and form part of the regulations now in force, in
substitution of any previous regulation in force of a
similar purport.
SCHEDULE.
THE following shall be the charges to be paid in
respect of the transmission on the New Zealand
Telegraph lines of telegrams from New Zealand
to Australia and Tasmania, and from Australia and
Tasmania to New Zealand: For each telegram, six-
pence for the first ten words, and one penny for
every additional word, counting the words contained
in the address and signature as well as those con-
tained in the body of the message itself.

the seventeenth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, the powers granted to
the Colonial Secretary under the seventy-fourth and
seventy-fifth sections of "The Lunatics Act, 1868,"
were delegated to Richmond Beetham, Esquire:
And whereas it is expedient to delegate the said
powers in manner hereinafter expressed:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth, by this present
order, delegate to
CALEB WHITEFOORD, Esquire,
the powers granted to the Colonial Secretary under
the seventy-fourth and seventy-fifth sections of the
