Waiongonu River to the mouth of the Mokau River;
again towards the North by that river to its source;
towards the East by a right line thence to where the
Ngarae River is intersected by the 39th parallel of
south latitude; towards the South-east by that river
and by the Wanganui River to where the Taumata-
mahoe track crosses it; thence by a right line in the
direction of the mouth of Patea River until inter-
sected by the confiscation boundary-line; towards
the South-west by that line to the Patea River;
thence by that river to Block III., Ngaire Survey
District; towards the West by said block and by
Blocks XV., XI, and VII. of Huiroa Survey Dis-
trict; towards the South by said Block VII. and by
Block VI. of said survey district to the Manganui
River; again towards the West by that river to the
Kurapete River; again towards the South-east by
that river to the eastern side of Suffolk Road; again
towards the South-west by Sections Nos. 238, 233,
230, and 221 of Huirangi District to Section No.
207 of said district; again towards the South by
Sections Nos. 221, 215, 205, and 212 to the Waio-
ngonu River; and generally again towards the West
by that river to its mouth.
NEW PLYMOUTH DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Tara-
naki, bounded towards the East by the Waitara
Registration District, before described, from the
mouth of the Waiongonu River to Section No. 212,
Huirangi District; towards the South by Section
No. 204 of said district, and by Sections Nos. 98,
133, 42, 33, and 28 of Tarurutangi District; thence
by Sections Nos. 46, 47, 49, and 52 of Hua and Wai-
wakaiho Hundreds to the Waiwakaiho River; again
towards the East and South-east by said river to its
source, and by a right line thence to the summit of
Mount Egmont; thence by a right line to the source
of the Taungatara River, and by said river to the
ocean; and towards the South-west and North-west
by the ocean to the starting point: as the same is
delineated on the plans deposited in the Survey
Office, New Plymouth.
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall
some into operation on the fifteenth day of August,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two.

the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this

Births and Deaths Act, 1875."

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the power and au-
thority vested in the Governor by "The Regis-
tration of Births and Deaths Act, 1875," I, James
Prendergast, the Administrator of the Government
of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby abolish the
existing registration district known as the New
Plymouth District; and do proclaim and declare
that the territory heretofore comprised within the
said district is hereby divided anew into two regis-
tration districts, the names whereof shall be the Wai-
tara and New Plymouth Districts, and the boundaries
whereof shall be coterminous with the boundaries of
the marriage districts bearing the same names as are
set forth in a Proclamation of even date herewith,
made under the provisions of "The Marriage Act,
1880."
And I hereby declare that this Proclamation shall
come into operation on the fifteenth day of August,
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two.

Land set apart on Deferred Payments in Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like manner set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:
And whereas the Land Board of Otago did, on
the fourteenth day of June, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-two, pass a resolution recommending
that the land described in the Schedule hereto
annexed should be set apart for sale on deferred pay-
ments:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief Jus-
tice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Administrator
of the Government thereof, in pursuance and exer-
cise of the power and authority vested in me by the
above-named Act, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the land described in the Schedule hereto is set
apart for sale on deferred payments; and that
Friday, the twenty-seventh day of October, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, shall be the
day on which the said land shall be open for appli-
cation, in allotments as surveyed and marked on the
selection map in the principal land office of the
district.
And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be the price set opposite each allot-
ment in the Schedule hereto.
