Declaring "The Regulation of Local Elections Act,
1876," in force within the Mount Somers Road
District, County of Ashburton.

A PROCLAMATION.
BY virtue of the power vested in me by the third
section of "The Regulation of Local Elections
Act, 1876," I, James Prendergast, the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the said Act
shall come into force, in respect of all elective offices
of the Mount Somers Road Board, within the district
known as the Mount Somers Road District.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
nineteenth day of July, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

the colony, doth make the regulation hereto annexed
respecting class-books to be used in public schools;
and, with the like advice and consent, doth prescribe
that this order shall take effect from the date hereof.

Appointing Day for Election of Member of Board,
Waipori Road District, County of Taieri.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the persons entitled to vote at the
election of a member for the Waihola West
Subdivision of the Waipori Road District failed to
hold an election on the day appointed by "The
Otago Roads Ordinance, 1871," and it is expedient to
appoint a day for holding the said election, as is pro-
vided by the tenth section of "The Otago Roads
Ordinance 1871 Amendment Ordinance, 1874 :"
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Adminis-
trator of the Government of the Colony of New Zea-
land, in exercise of the powers vested in me by the
said Ordinances, and by "The Abolition of Provinces
Act, 1875," do hereby proclaim and appoint that an
election of a member for the Waihola West Sub-
division of the said road district shall be held on
Saturday, the twelfth day of August, one thousand,
eight hundred and eighty-two.
Given under the hand of His Excellency Sir
James Prendergast, Knight, Chief Justice,
the Administrator of the Government of
Her Majesty's Colony of New Zealand
and its Dependencies; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this

Additional Polling-place appointed for Waikouaiti
Electoral District.

WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1881," it is enacted that the Governor may
from time to time appoint, alter, and abolish polling-
places for each electoral district within the limits
thereof, and may appoint any one of such polling-
places to be the principal polling-place of the district,
and that no polling-place shall be appointed unless
the Governor shall be first satisfied that the place to
be appointed is more convenient than any others for
at least twenty electors to record their votes thereat:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Ad-
ministrator of the Government of the Colony of
New Zealand, do hereby appoint the following place
to be an additional polling-place for the Electora.
District of Waikouaiti, namely:-
The Schoolhouse, Seacliff.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
nineteenth day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two.
