Gold-Mining Leases cancelled.

IT is hereby notified that His Excellency the
Governor has been pleased to pronounce the
under-mentioned gold-mining leases cancelled, and
that the ground is now open for application as if no
leases of the said ground had ever been applied for:--
Patrick Cain and Robert Wright; 4 acres, Dis-
trict of Westland. No. D13.
Richard James Tonks; 10 acres, District of West-
land, No. D26.
Richard James Tonks; 4 acres 3 roods 30 perches,
District of Westland. No. D25.

Gold-Mining Leases to be granted.
IN conformity with the thirty-seventh section of
"The Mines Act, 1877," and with the regula-

the grounds of objection, must be made in writing,
and lodged with the Warden at Greymouth on or
before the 7th day of July, 1882.
Copy of the applications made and plans annexed
may be seen at the Warden's Office at Greymouth.
SCHEDULE.
APPLICANT: Frederick James Gleeson. Style under
which it is intended to conduct the business: "Black
Ball Quartz-Mining Company." 16 acres 2 roods,
lease formerly held by Kinsella and party, Black
Ball Creek, Grey, in the Nelson South-West Mining
District.
Applicant: John Emmett Warner. Style under
which it is intended to conduct the business: "The
Phoenix Gold-Mining Company." 12 acres, about
ten miles up the Black Ball Creek from its junction
with the Grey, District of Mawheranui, in the Nelson
South-West Mining District.
Applicant: Harry Caplin. Style under which it
is intended to conduct the business: "The Black
Ball Gold-Mining Company." 16 acres 2 roods,
about ten miles up the Black Ball Creek from its
junction with the Grey, District of Mawheranui, in
the Nelson South-West Mining District.
Given under my hand, at Nelson, this
sixth day of June, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two.

Crown Lands Notices.
Leases of Reserves in Marlborough to be offered
at Auction.
LEASES of the under-mentioned Blocks of Land
in the Provincial District of Marlborough, will
be offered to public competition by auction, at the
Survey Office, Blenheim, on Tuesday, the 4th July,
1882, at noon, on the terms and conditions specified,
namely:--
2 acres, being part of Section No. 52, Picton
Suburban, now occupied by M. Sherrock. Term of
lease to be fourteen years; upset annual rent, £1.
If any person other than the present occupant be the
highest bidder, he shall pay at the auction, in addition
to a year's rent, the sum of £72 10s. as the value of
the improvements now upon the land. Should he
fail to do so, the lease will be immediately put up to
auction again at the upset annual rent. If at any
time during the currency of the lease the Government
should require the land, the lessee shall surrender his
lease on receiving six months' notice, without com-
pensation.
300 acres, Block A, Woodbank Run, situate on
north bank of River Clarence. Term of lease to be
five years; upset annual rent, £5 10s. A right to
be reserved to the public to rest travelling stock on
the reserve, on payment to the lessee as follows: For
sheep, 1/4d. per head per night; for horses and cattle,
2d. per head per night.
Competition to be on the amount of annual rent.
One year's rent shall be paid at the auction. A
year's rent shall also be paid on the 1st January in
each year during the continuance of lease, except the
last year of the term.
