"Highways Act, 1874" brought into Operation in
Manukau Highway District, County of Waite-
mata.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
UNDER and in pursuance of an Act of the Pro-
vince of Auckland intituled "The Highways
Act, 1874," and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby notify that I
do hereby bring the said "Highways Act, 1874," into
operation in the Manukau Highway District; and I
further notify that I do hereby appoint the tenth
day of July, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two, at two o'clock, at the Little Muddy Creek
Schoolroom, to be the day, hour, and place for the
first meeting of ratepayers for the said district; and
I appoint George Laing to be the Chairman of such
meeting.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this fourteenth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two.

Polling-places appointed for Stanmore Electoral
District.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
WHEREAS by "The Regulation of Elections Act,
1881," it is enacted that the Governor may
from time to time appoint, alter, and abolish polling-
places for each electoral district within the limits
thereof, and may appoint any one of such polling-
places to be the principal polling-place of the district,
and that no polling-place shall be appointed unless
the Governor shall be first satisfied that the place to
be appointed is more convenient than any others for
at least twenty electors to record their votes thereat:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
abolish the existing polling-places for the Stanmore
Electoral District, and do hereby appoint the follow-
ing places to be the polling-places and the principal
polling-place for the said Stanmore Electoral District,
namely:-
The Schoolhouse, Bingsland (principal).
The Mutual Improvement Hall, High Street,
Knight's Town.
The Schoolhouse, Philipstown.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this fourteenth day of June,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two.
