Licensing Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licens-
ing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor
shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the com-
mencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, from time to time define districts to be
licensing districts under the said Act, and from time
to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and define the
several parts of the colony mentioned and described
in the Schedule hereto to be ordinary licensing dis-
tricts for the purposes of the said Act, and that each
such district shall be known by the name by which
it is designated in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
NORTH ISLAND.
MONGONUI COUNTY.
Whangaroa. Bounded towards the South, South-
west, and North-west by the Highway Districts of
Whangaroa North, Kaeo, and Totara respectively,
from Takou Bay on East Coast to Stoney Creek
at its junction with the Orouaiti River; thence
towards the North by said Totara Highway District
to Whangaroa Harbour; thence by the coast-line to
Takou Bay, the starting point.
Mongonui. Bounded towards the South, South-
east, and again towards the South by the Whangaroa
Licensing District, from Whangaroa Harbour to:
the Oruru Highway District; thence southerly and
westerly to the Mangatete River; thence south-
westerly by that river to Rangaunu Harbour; thence
by the sea to the starting point.
Kaitaia. Bounded towards the East by the
Mongonui Licensing District to the north boundary
of Hokianga County; thence westerly by said county
to Herekino Bay on West Coast; thence northerly
by said coast to Cape Maria Van Diemen; thence
easterly by coast-line to North Cape; thence
southerly by East Coast to the starting point.
HOKIANGA COUNTY.
Waihou. Bounded towards the North by Mongo-
nui County; towards the East by Bay of Islands
County to the centre of the main road dividing
the Bay of Islands and Hokianga Counties; thence
towards the South by the middle of the said
road to the Taheke River, and by the middle of said
river and the Waima River to the Hokianga Estuary,
and by the south shore of that estuary to the ocean;
and towards the West by the ocean.
Waima. Bounded towards the North by Waihou
Licensing District; towards the East by Bay of
Islands County; towards the South by Hobson
County; and towards the West by the ocean.
BAY OF ISLANDS COUNTY.
Kawakawa. Bounded towards the East by the
Waikare River to the western boundary of Baker's
grant, and by said western boundary; thence by a
line from the south-west angle of Baker's grant to the
northern boundary of Ruapekapeka Block; thence
by the eastern boundary of Ruapekapeka Block and
by the Waiotu River to south-west angle of Puhipuhi
