Season for Killing Hares in North Canterbury
extended.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
WHEREAS by a warrant made under "The Ani-
mals Protection Act, 1880," dated the twenty-
ninth day of March, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two, and published in the New Zealand
Gazette of the thirtieth day of March, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, it was notified, amongst
other things, that hares might be taken or killed
within the North Canterbury District from the first
day of April, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two, until the thirty-first day of July, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two: And whereas it is
expedient to extend the time for killing or taking
hares within the said district:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers vested in me by the said "Animals
Protection Act, 1880," and "The Animals Protection
Act Amendment Act, 1881," do hereby notify that
hares may be taken or killed within the North
Canterbury District until the thirty-first day of
August, one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.
As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this seventeenth day of May,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two.
