Waimapu Licensing District redefined.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licens-
ing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor
shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the com-
mencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, from time to time define districts to be
licensing districts under the said Act, and from time
to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same: And whereas it is expedient to alter and
redefine the boundaries of the District of Waimapu:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, alter and redefine the
boundaries of the Waimapu District, which shall
henceforth be those described in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
Waimapu.βBounded towards the North-west and
North by Katikati Licensing District and Tauranga
Harbour; towards the North-east by the ocean;
towards the South-east and South by a right line
from the mouth of the Wairakei Stream to Otara,
and from thence to Otanewainuku, and thence to
Poutihi, and towards the West by Piako County:
exclusive of the Borough of Tauranga.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Christ-
church, this fourth day of May, in

of some respectable witness ; and that such petition
shall set forth accurately the boundaries of the
locality to which such petition may refer; and also
that, on the receipt of any such petition, the Gover-
nor may, by Proclamation, declare that the provisions
of the said Act shall come into force within such
locality, and that the same shall be a town district
under the said Act; and, further, that such Procla-
mation shall accurately define the boundaries of the
district in accordance with the description contained
in the petition, and shall declare the name by which
such district shall thereafter be known :
And whereas a petition has been presented to the
Governor by the inhabitants of the locality men-
tioned and described therein, praying that such
locality may be constituted a town district under the
said Act :
And whereas not less than two-thirds of the num-
ber of resident householders in the said locality have
concurred in the said petition, and it is expedient
that a Proclamation should be issued under the said
Act for the purposes hereinafter set forth :
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the hereinbefore in part recited Act,
do hereby proclaim and declare that the provisions
of the said Act shall come into force within the
locality or district mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto (the same being the locality men-
tioned and set forth in the said petition, so presented
as aforesaid), and that the same shall be a town dis-
trict under the said Act; and, in further pursuance
and exercise of the said power and authority, I do
hereby declare that the said district shall hereafter
be known by the name of "The Opunake Town Dis-
trict;" and I do appoint that the Board of Commis-
sioners for the said district shall consist of five in
number.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Taranaki
situated in Opunake Survey District, and bounded
towards the North-west by the Otahi River; towards
the South-west by the sea; towards the South-east
by the Waiaua River; and towards the North-east
by Section No. 35, Block IX: as the same is deli-
neated on the plan deposited in the Survey Office,
New Plymouth.
