colony, or by Proclamation, that such Bill has been
laid before Her Majesty in Council, and that Her
Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same:
And whereas a certain Bill passed by the Legisla-
tive Council and the House of Representatives of
the said colony, No. 48, of 1881, entitled "An Act
to amend 'The Divorce and Matrimonial Causes Act,
1867,'" was presented to the Governor of the said
colony for Her Majesty's assent, and the said Bill
was reserved for the signification of Her Majesty's
pleasure thereon:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance of the provisions of the said in part recited
Act, do, by this Proclamation, signify and proclaim
to all whom it may concern that the said Bill has
been laid before Her Majesty in Council, and that
Her Majesty has been pleased to assent to the same.

Portion of School Reserve, Te Aroha, exempted from
Occupation under "The Gold-Mining Districts
Act, 1873."

A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities vested in me by "The Gold-Mining
Districts Act, 1873," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the parcel of land
described in the Schedule hereto is hereby exempted
from occupation for mining purposes, or for water-
races, dams, or reservoirs, or for machine, business,
or residence sites.
SCHEUDLE.
ALL that parcel of land within the Aroha Gold-
Mining District, being a portion of the Thames High
School Endowment Reserve (save and except such
portions as are laid out as public roads), containing
by admeasurement 638 acres 3 roods 17 perches,
more or less, situate in the Survey District of Te
Aroha, Provincial District of Auckland, commencing
at the south-eastern corner of the said endowment.
Bounded—South-westerly by road reserve abutting
the Waihou River, 2402.5 links; thence North-
westerly by Lots Nos. 11, 12, and 13, and part of the
said endowment, 12102 links; thence North-easterly
by part of the said endowment, 8559.5 links; thence
South-easterly by Native Reserve to point of com-
mencement, 13913.4 links.

Tauranga Borough declared an Ordinary Licensing
District.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licens-
ing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor
shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the com-
mencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, from time to time define districts to be
licensing districts under the said Act, and from time
to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and define the
part of the colony mentioned and described in the
Schedule hereto to be an ordinary licensing district for
the purposes of the said Act, and that such district
shall be known by the name by which it is designated
in the said Schedule.
SCHEDULE.
Tauranga—All that area known as the Borough
of Tauranga, and bounded towards the North and
East by high-water mark of the Tauranga Har-
bour; towards the South-west by a line along the
south-west side of Hospital Street, and that line pro-
duced to the Kopurererua River; and towards the
West by that river and high-water mark of the Wai-
kareao Estuary to the Tauranga Harbour.
