Defining the Middle Line of Railway, Hamilton to
Cambridge (about 12 miles).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Hamilton to
Cambridge is one of the railways specified in
"The Railways Authorization Act, 1881," and which
Act is therein declared to be a special Act authorizing
the construction of such railway, and it has been
determined to construct and maintain the said rail-
way:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exer-
cise and in pursuance of the powers and authori-
ties conferred on me by sections one hundred and
twenty-two, one hundred and twenty-three, one
hundred and twenty-four, and one hundred and
twenty-five of "The Public Works Act, 1876," and
in exercise of every other power and authority
enabling me in that behalf, do hereby proclaim and
declare that the middle line of the said railway
shall be from a point in Lot number three hun-
dred and two, Parish of Kirikiriroa, to a point in
Lot number five hundred and eighty-three, Town-
ship of Cambridge, all within the Provincial Dis-
trict of Auckland, Colony of New Zealand, as
defined and set forth in the Schedule hereto. The
said middle line and the land through which the
same passes are set forth in the map and plan marked
P.W.D. 8987, and authenticated for the purposes of
this Proclamation by the signature of the Honorable
Walter Woods Johnston, Minister acting for the
Minister for Public Works, and which said map and
plan is deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Auckland, in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Auckland.

SCHEDULE.

COMMENCING at a point on the railway from Waikato
to the Thames, in Lot No. 302, Parish of Kirikiriroa,
as described in a Proclamation defining middle line,
dated the 8th day of April, 1879, and published in

the New Zealand Gazette No. 41, of the 17th day of
April, 1879, proceeding thence in a generally south-
easterly direction for a distance of twelve miles or
thereabouts, and passing in, into, through, or over
the following lands, &c.: Parish of Kirikiriroa, Lots
Nos. 302, 282, 283, 284, 270, and 271; Parish of
Tamahere, Lots Nos. 29, 27, 28, 82, 45, 70, 46, 48, 83,
150, and 76; Parish of Hautapu, Lots Nos. 174, 177,
175, 176, 163, 164, 96, 96A, 95, 94, 116, 90, 89, and 27;
the Cemetery, Lots Nos. 191, 192, 193, 194, and 155;
the Te Koutu Lake Reserve; Township of Cambridge,
Town Belt Lots Nos. 18A, 207, 206, 205, 303, 304,
305, 306, 342, 589, and 577; Whitaker Terrace, Lots
410A, 410, 411, 412, 413, 414, 415, 416, 417, 418, 419,
420, 421, 422, 422A, 423; and terminating in a point
in Lot No. 583; including all adjoining and inter-
vening places, Crown lands, lands, roads, reserves,
streams, rivers, and watercourses; all within the Pro-
vincial District of Auckland, Colony of New Zealand;
in the manner delineated upon the plan marked
P.W.D. 8987, signed by the Hon. Walter Woods
Johnston, Minister acting for the Minister for Public
Works, deposited in the office of the Registrar of the
Supreme Court at Auckland, in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Auckland; the total length being twelve
miles or thereabouts.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Christ-
church, this twenty-seventh day of April,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two.
