Regulations under "The Chinese Immigrants Act,
1881."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of April, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by the fifteenth section of "The
Chinese Immigrants Act, 1881," it is enacted
that the Governor in Council may from time to time
make such regulations as he shall deem necessary for
giving effect to the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor, by
and with the consent of the Executive Council of the
said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities vested in him by the said Act,
doth hereby make the following regulations for giving
effect to the said Act, that is to say,-
- The form of certificate to be given to each
Chinese person under the seventh section of the
said Act, on whose behalf the prescribed sum of ten
pounds has been paid under the fifth section thereof,
shall be as follows:-

of the said Act, shall be as follows, or to the like

Extension of Time for Preparation of Valuation Roll,
County of Amuri.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of April, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that
certain things required to be done by "The
Rating Act, 1876," in connection with the prepara-
tion and revision of the valuation roll of the County
of Amuri cannot be done by or within the times
mentioned in the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers
vested in him by the said "Rating Act, 1876," and
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the
times for doing the said things in connection with
the valuation roll of the said county, and doth declare
that the times for the doing of such several things
shall be those specified in the Schedule, hereto.
SCHEDULE.
- For transmitting to the County Council the
valuation list: On or before the 14th June, 1882. - Valuation list to be open for inspection, and
objections thereto to be received: Until the 15th
July, 1882.

Palmerston North Public Cemetery brought under
"The Cemeteries Management Act, 1877."

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-first day of April, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section thirty-nine of "The
Cemeteries Management Act, 1877," it is,
amongst other things, enacted that, where the Trus-
tees of any public cemetery, or the Trustees, Mana-
gers, or other persons having the care and control of
any other cemetery, burial-ground, or place of burial
heretofore established, shall be desirous of adopting
the provisions of this Act, or any of them, in the
place of any Act or Ordinance, or any provisions of
such Act or Ordinance, heretofore regulating the
management of any such last-mentioned cemetery,
burial-ground, or place of burial, the said Trustees,
Managers, or other persons may apply to the Governor
in Council in that behalf, who may thereupon cause
inquiry to be made in such manner as he shall think
fit as to the desirability of granting such petition,
and the Governor may, by Order in Council, direct
that the provisions of this Act, or any of them, shall
come into force in respect of any such cemetery,
burial-ground, or place of burial, or he may reject
any such application :
And whereas the Trustees of the Palmerston North
Public Cemetery have applied to the Governor to
bring the said cemetery under the provisions of the
said Act, and due inquiry has been made in pursuance
of the said thirty-ninth section as to the desirability
of granting such petition:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in pursuance and exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in him, and by
and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby order and
direct that all provisions of "The Cemeteries Manage-
ment Act, 1877," shall come into force in respect of
the public cemetery at Palmerston North, in the
Provincial District of Wellington, and known as the
Palmerston North Cemetery, as the same is described
in the Schedule hereto; and, in further pursuance
and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
me, I do, with the like advice and consent as afore-
said, order and direct that this order shall come into
force on the day of the date hereof.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, containing by admeasurement 8 acres
3 roods 2 perches, more or less, being Section No.
1537 on the plan of the Township of Palmerston
North. Bounded towards the North-east by a rail-
way reserve, 667 links; towards the South-east by a
public road, 2395 links; and towards the South-west
and North-west by a railway reserve, 87 links and
2325 links respectively: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less.
