Judges appointed to try certain Election Petitions.
In the Supreme Court of New Zealand.—In the
matter of “The Election Petitions Act, 1880.”
IN exercise of the powers vested in me by “The
Election Petitions Act, 1880,” I hereby appoint
ALEXANDER JAMES JOHNSTON, Esq., and
JOSHUA STRANGE WILLIAMS, Esq.,
being respectively Judges of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand, to be the Judges before whom shall
take place the trials of the several election petitions
following, that is to say,—
The last-presented petition of William Patten
Cowlishaw against the return of Walter Hippo-
lite Pilliet for Stanmore:
The petition of Joseph Ivess against the return of
John Cathcart Wason for Wakanui:
The petition of Henry Hirst against the return of
Theophilus Daniel for Wallace.
Given under my hand this 17th day of January,

THOMAS BANNATYNE GILLIES, Esq.,
being respectively Judges of the Supreme Court of
New Zealand, to be the Judges before whom shall
take place the trial of the election petition following,
that is to say,—
The petition of Archibald Duddington Willis, John
Ballance, and Stuart Marcus Manson against the
return of William Hogg Watt for Wanganui.
