Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of
Auckland, Canterbury, Otago, and Westland.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve
from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auck-
land, Canterbury, Otago, and Westland, described
in the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes
in the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.

AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land in the Provincial
District of Auckland, containing by admeasurement
2 roods 4 perches, more or less, being Allotment
No. 30A of the Parish of Titirangi, Block XV.,
Waitemata Survey District. Bounded towards the
North-east by Allotment No. 30, 420 links; towards
the South by Allotment No. 31, 220 links; and
towards the West by a stream and a road-line, 240
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
As an addition to the lunatic asylum reserve.

CANTERBURY.

101 acres, more or less, in the Rakaia Survey Dis-
trict, Provincial District of Canterbury. Bounded-
Northward by the Terrace of the River Rakaia, and
by Section No. 30133; Southward by Normanby
Road; Eastward by the South Rakaia Township;
and Westward by Wolseley Road: and numbered
2537 (in red) on the official map in the Survey Office
Christchurch. For a public domain.

All those several parcels of land in the Provincial
District of Canterbury hereinafter described, and
numbered respectively as follows on the official map
in the Survey Office, Christchurch :--

3 acres, more or less, in the Oxford Survey Dis-
trict. Bounded-South-westward by Section No.
34760, 630 links; North-westward by a line at right
angies thereto; and Eastward by a road-line: and
numbered 2532 (in red). For a gravel-pit.

10 acres, more or less, in the Westerfield Survey
District. Bounded-North-westward by Section No.
28664; North-eastward by Section No. 20964;
South-westward by a line at right angles to the
north-west boundary, 1000 links; and South-eastward
by a line parallel to the said north-west boundary:
and numbered 2536 (in red). For a site for Road
Board office.

5 acres, more or less, in the Gough's Bay Survey
District. Bounded - Westward by Section No.
20536, 438 links; Northward by the road forming
the northern boundary thereof; Southward by a line
at right angles to the western boundary, 763 links;
and Eastward by a line parallel thereto: and num-
bered 2286 (in red). For a school site.

3 acres 2 roods 6 perches, more or less, in the
Alford Survey District. Bounded-Eastward by
Section No. 34055, 471 links; and Southward and
North-westward by road-lines, 1503 links and 1575
links respectively: and numbered 2430 (in red). For
a gravel-pit.

[No. 38

3 acres 2 roods 24 perches, more or less, in the
Hinds Survey District. Bounded-Northward by
Lot No. 12 of the subdivision of Reserve No. 350 (in
red), 1294 links; Westward by Lot No. 13 thereof,
430 links; Southward by Section No. 20819; and
South-eastward by a road-line: and numbered 2432
(in red). For a gravel-pit.

5 acres, more or less, in the Opuha Survey Dis-
trict. Bounded-Eastward by the road forming the
eastern boundary of Section No. 28379, 1000 links;
Southward by the road forming the southern boun-
dary thereof, 500 links; and Westward and North-
ward by lines parallel to the eastern and southern
boundaries: and numbered 2435 (in red). For a
gravel-pit.

5 acres, more or less, in the Opuha Survey Dis-
trict. Bounded-Southward by the road forming the
southern boundary of Section No. 28901, 500 links;
Eastward by Section No. 27878, 1000 links; and
Northward and Westward by lines parallel to the
southern and eastern boundaries: and numbered 2436
(in red). For a gravel-pit.

3 acres, more or less, in the Hall Survey District.
Bounded-Northward by Section No. 30070, 421
links; and Eastward, Westward, and Southward by
road-lines, 1453 links, 1400 links, and 11 links re-
spectively: and numbered 2458 (in red). For a
gravel-pit.

OTAGO..

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, containing by admeasurement 12 acres 2 roods
14 perches, more or less, situate in the Moeraki Dis-
trict, and numbered Section 77 of Block IV. of said dis-
trict. Bounded towards the North-west by Section
No. 1 of 65 of same block, 530 links; towards the
East by Section No. 74 of same block, 2498-3 links;
towards the South by a road-line, 524-3 links;
towards the West by a road-line, 2419 links: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less, and intersected
by a road-line 50 links wide. For a quarry.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Otago, containing by admeasurement 5 acres,
more or less, situate in the Kingston District, and
being Section No. 20 of Block III. of said district.
Bounded towards the North-west by the Mataura
River, 1600 links; towards the North-east by Crown
lands, 60 links; towards the South-east by a road-
line, 1359 links; and towards the South-west by
Crown lands, 220 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For a school site.

WESTLAND.

An addition of 10 acres to the area of Reserve
No. 159 (in red), Block XII., Waimea Survey
District, the boundaries of said Reserve No. 159
(in red) will be now as follows: Bounded towards
the East by the Greenstone Road, commencing 224
links from Section No. 1748, 1000 links; towards
the North by a line at right angle with the Green-
stone Road aforesaid, 2000 links; towards the West
by a line parallel with east boundary, 1000 links; and
towards the South by a line parallel with north boun-
dary, 2000 links: be all the aforesaid linkages a little
more or less. For a reserve for cemetery purposes.

NOTE. This reserve includes the area reserved by warrant
dated the 28th August, 1877, and published in Gazette No. 75,
of the 30th August, 1877, folio 879.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this fourteenth day of April,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two.
