Land declared open for Sale by Auction in the
Westland Land District.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and fifty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor, by Proclamation, may from time
to time declare any Crown lands within any mining
district not held under license or lease at the date of
such Proclamation, or over which the license or lease
has been cancelled, to be open for sale or selection, in
sections of such size and form, and on such date, as
he may determine; and any land so proclaimed may
hereafter be sold at a like price, and subject to the
like terms and conditions, or as near thereto as may
be, as Crown lands of the same class not within a
mining district, and the Governor may from time to
time alter, amend, or revoke any such Proclamation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
declare that the land specified in the Schedule hereto
shall be open for sale by public auction on such day
as may be fixed by the Land Board of the Land
District of Westland.

SCHEDULE.

RURAL BLOCK CLII., SITUATED ON SOUTH BEACH,
BETWEEN HOKITIKA RIVER AND TOTARA LAGOON.

ONE hundred and twenty acres, more or less, situ
ated in Block VII., Mahinapua Survey District.
Bounded towards the North by the H.E. road-line;
towards the East by Railway Reserve No. 9 (in red)
towards the South by block open for sale; and
towards the West by the road reserve along the sea-
coast: subject to necessary reserves, and exclusive of
existing rights under "The Mines Act, 1877."

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and

Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Christ-
church, this thirteenth day of April, in
the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two.

in Otago.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the fifty-third section of "The
Land Act, 1877," it is enacted that the
Governor, by Proclamation in the Gazette, may from
time to time set apart out of any suburban or rural
lands such blocks or allotments of land as he shall
think fit, and set the same aside for sale on deferred
payments, and in such Proclamation may fix a day
on which the land shall be open for application; and
that he may also in like matter set apart for sale on
deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

And whereas the land specified in the Schedule
hereto was, with other lands, on the tenth day of
November, one thousand eight hundred and seventy-
four, proclaimed as set apart for sale on deferred
payments:

And whereas the Land Board of Otago did, on
the twenty-eighth day of February, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, pass a resolution
recommending that the land described in the
