As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this first day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

and eighty-two, to the thirty-first day of July, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, both in-
clusive (subject nevertheless to the restrictions in
the said Act mentioned). And I do further notify
that licenses to take or kill such game within the
said district shall be issued on payment of the sum
of twenty shillings each, and that licenses to sell
such game shall be issued on payment of the sum of
five pounds each; and the Chief Postmaster at
Wellington and the Postmasters at Featherston
and Masterton are hereby appointed to issue the
said licenses. And I do further notify that native
game (excepting tuis) may be taken or killed within
the said district from the first day of May, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-two, to the thirty-
first day of July, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two, both inclusive.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this seventh day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

Authorizing the taking and laying off of Roads
over Native Land in the Auckland Provincial
District.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

BEING desirous, in exercise and pursuance of all
powers and authorities enabling me in this
behalf by "The Native Lands Act, 1873," "The
Native Land Act Amendment Act, 1878 (No. 2),"
and "The Public Works Act, 1880," of taking and
laying off for public purposes one or more line or
lines of road from and out of the lands specified in
the Schedule hereto, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize

PETER EDWARD CHEAL,
Assistant-Surveyor, of Auckland, to enter upon the
said lands or any part thereof, in my name and on
my behalf, and to take and lay off such line or lines
of road from and out of such lands as may be law-
fully taken and laid off under the powers conferred
upon me by the said Acts or any of them.

Notification of the Payment of Money on and Entry
into Negotiations for the Purchase of Native Lands
in the North Island.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Govern-
ment Native Land Purchases Act, 1877," it is
hereby notified that money has been paid by or on
behalf of Her Majesty the Queen for the purchase
or acquisition of the several blocks of Native land
in the North Island which are more particularly
described and mentioned in the Schedule hereto;
and, further, that negotiations in respect of such
purchase or acquisitions as aforesaid have been
entered into by or on behalf of Her said Majesty.

SCHEDULE.
MAUNGANUI.
ALL that parcel of land at Tauranga, in the District
of Bay of Plenty, in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, known by the name of Maunganui, containing
by admeasurement 205 acres, more or less. Bounded,
from a point called Tokatapu, towards the North
and East by high-water mark of the Bay of Plenty;
towards the South by the Hopukiore Block 1601$\frac{1}{2}$
links, and high-water mark of the Tauranga Harbour;
and towards the West by high-water mark of the
Tauranga Harbour to Tokatapu, the point of com-
mencement.

HOPUKIORE.
All that parcel of land at Tauranga, in the District
of Bay of Plenty, in the Provincial District of Auck-
land, known by the name of Hopukiore, containing
by admeasurement 156 acres, more or less. Bounded
towards the North-east by high-water mark of the
Bay of Plenty; towards the South-east by Native
land, 4394 links; towards the West by high-water
mark of the Tauranga Harbour; and towards the
North by the Maunganui Block, 1601$\frac{1}{2}$ links.

Governor, this eighth day of April, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two.

Fixing Shooting Season for Native and Imported Game,
License Fee, &c., Wellington, District.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The
Animals Protection Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamil-
ton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony of New
Zealand, do hereby notify that cock-pheasants, hares,
and Californian quail may be taken or killed within
the Wellington District, consisting of the Counties of
Hutt, Wairarapa East, and Wairarapa West, from
the first day of May, one thousand eight hundred

Notification that Her Majesty has ceased to have
any Interest in certain Native Lands in the North
Island.
