A PROCLAMATION.
IN pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the third section of "The Dog Regis-
tration Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the area comprised within
the district described in the Schedule hereto shall be
excluded from the operation of the said Act.

THE County of Stewart Island as described in "The
Counties Act, 1876."
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at Christ-
church, this twenty-second day of March,
in the year of our Lord one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licens-
ing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor
shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the com-
me ncement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, from time to time define districts to be
licensing districts under the said Act, and from time
to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same: And whereas it is expedient to alter and re-
define the boundaries of the Districts of Upper Wai-
makariri and Malvern by abolishing the District of
Upper Waimakariri, and altering and redefining the
boundaries of the District of Malvern, and defining
the District of Coleridge:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and declare
that from and after the date of the gazetting hereof
the District of Upper Waimakariri constituted under
the said Act shall be and it is hereby abolished, and
do further proclaim and declare that from and after
the date of the gazetting hereof the boundaries of
the Malvern District constituted shall be altered
and redefined by being altered to those mentioned
and set forth in the Schedule hereto under that name,
and that the part of the colony mentioned and
described in the Schedule hereto under the name of
Coleridge shall be a licensing district under the said
Act by the name of Coleridge.
SCHEDULE.
Malvern.βBounded towards the North-east by the
Ashley County, from the saddle between the Tere-
makau and the Hurunui Rivers to Ashley Head;
thence towards the South-east, and again towards
the North-east by the said Ashley County to the
eastern boundary of Run No. 41, Class 3; thence
again towards the South-east by said eastern boundary
of Run No. 41 to the Wakaepa Branch of the River
Selwyn; thence towards the South-west by the said
Wakaepa Branch to its junction with a creek running
from the Thirteen-Mile Bush; thence by a right line
