SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 33 perches, more or less, situate in
the Belmont Survey District, Provincial District of
Wellington, being portion of Section No. 2, Petone,
commencing at a point 1218 links distant in a south-
easterly direction from Korokoro Trig. Station.
Bounded as follows: Southerly by Beach Road, 100
links; Easterly by a line, 208 links; Northerly by
the Hutt Road, 100 links; Westerly to commencing
point, 208 links: the same being more particularly
delineated upon the plan marked P.W.D. 8439, at-
tached to the memorial above referred to.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fifth day of January, in the year of our
Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

Reserves for Rangiora and Akaroa High Schools.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS "The Rangiora High School Act,
1881," and "The "Akaroa High School Act,
1881," it is respectively provided that it shall be
lawful for the Commissioners appointed under "The
Education Reserves Act, 1877," for the Provincial
District of Canterbury, to select and set apart certain
reserves for the maintenance of the high schools
respectively established under the provisions of the
said Acts; and that, on the Proclamation of the
Governor that such reserves have been selected and
set apart for the said high schools, such reserves
respectively shall absolutely vest in the Boards of
Governors in the said Acts respectively mentioned:
And whereas Henry Porcher Lance, Esquire, John
Marshman, Esquire, George Lilly Mellish, Esquire,
James Edward Parker, Esquire, and Henry Richard
Webb, Esquire, are the School Commissioners ap-
pointed under the said "Education Reserves Act,
1877," for the Provincial District of Canterbury, and
they have selected the reserves described in the
Schedule hereto, in accordance with the terms of the
respective Acts hereinbefore mentioned:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested
in me by the said recited Acts, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the reserves, particulars whereof are
described in the First Schedule hereto, have been
selected and set apart for the Rangiora High School,
as provided by "The Rangiora High School Act,
1881;" and that the reserves, particulars whereof
are described in the Second Schedule hereto, have
been selected and set apart for the Akaroa High
School, as provided by "The Akaroa High School
Act, 1881."

HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by section nine of "The Public
Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," it
is enacted that if it is found that any land held,
taken, purchased, or acquired under "The Public
Works Act, 1876," or "The Immigration and Public
Works Act, 1870," and Acts amending the same, or
otherwise howsoever, for Government works, is not
required for such works, the Governor may cause
the same to be sold under the conditions therein set
forth :
And whereas the Minister for Public Works has
laid before the Governor the memorial referred to in
the twenty-ninth section of "The Public Works Act,
1876," praying the Governor, by an Order in Council,
to cause such land to be sold:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, and in exercise and pursuance of
the powers and authorities aforesaid, do hereby order
