Description of Land. -Half the area in light mixed
bush, other half open fern and manuka scrub; about
1 acre raupo swamp at foot of hills, being the only
level piece of land in the section; the rest is broken,
three spurs and three small streams intersecting;
pastoral country. The soil in the open country is
very poor; the bush is better.

Description of Land. -About 170 acres of forest,
mixed bush; 280 acres open land. About 150 acres
of the open land is very poor, almost worthless, being
very broken. 200 acres of broken land, mostly bush;
the remaining 100 acres composed of alluvial flats
and undulating ground in patches along the banks of
the Waikawau Stream. Soil fair on flats; alluvial
sandy deposits. Accessible by main road from
Thames to Coromandel along the coast.

Description of Land. -22, very broken, 2 or 3 acres
of forest, very poor soil, accessible by street from
Hastings Township and a portion of main coast-road,
a small triangular piece of flat land under the hills
adjoining the township on this section; 23, very
broken pastoral land, the Onepoto Stream runs
through centre of section, about 10 acres light mixed
bush, soil very poor; 25, adjoins Section 23, broken
land, watered by small streams, about 70 acres mixed
bush, some small kauri trees, a few good kauri trees
not easily got out; 26, broken land, about 100 acres
of good mixed bush, some fine kauri and black birch
trees easily got at, watered by Waipukapuka Stream,
an old tramway runs from coast alongside of stream;
27, broken land, indifferent soil, 60 acres mixed bush,
kauri and birch, accessible by main coast-road.

&c., soil good, stream forms fence on north and east;
11, nearly all level, fern and scrub, a portion volcanic,
small stream on south-east corner; 12, nearly all level,
about 5 acres bush fronting on stream, remainder
fern, &c., soil fairly good, stream forms fence on north
boundary; 13, level, about 5 acres bush fronting on
stream, about 7 acres swamp, remainder fern, &c.,

soil fair, stream forms fence on north boundary; 14,
nearly all level, about half swamp, 20 acres bush,
fronting stream, remainder fern, &c., soil fair, stream
forms fence on north boundary. These sections will be
connected by a good line of road with the Township
of Whangarei, distant about eleven miles.
