Canterbury, Esquire, has filed with me a
declaration of the destruction by fire of the follow-
ing certificates of title, viz., Vol. iv., folio 25; Vol.
xvii., folio 285; Vol. xx., folio 215; and Vol. xxxvii.,
folio 148, comprising Town Sections Nos. 76, 98, 99,
100, 101, 104, 106, 124, 125, 126, 128, 139, 315, 316,
368, 369, 370, 395, and 396, in the Township of
Arowhenua, and has applied to have provisional
certificates for the above lands issued to him, I
hereby give notice that I shall issue such provi-
sional certificates at the expiration of fourteen days
after the date of the Gazette containing this notice,
unless caveat be lodged in the meantime.

Mining Notices.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at St. Bathans, in the Mount
Ida Mining District, and to all other persons whom
it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race and divert water to be used for the
purpose of irrigation, commencing at a point on
Beck's Creek about one mile above where the said
creek enters Block II., Blackstone Survey District,
and terminating on my freehold, Section 15, Block II.,
of said district.
The length of said race is two miles or thereabouts;
mean breadth, 2 feet; depth, 9 inches; quantity of
water it is proposed to divert and carry, one head;
time required for construction and completion of
race, six months.
Dated at St. Bathans, this 10th day of February,
1882.
