Defining the Middle Line of Portion of the Nelson
to Greymouth Railway, Bellgrove Section (further
Portion of).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the line of railway from Nelson to
Greymouth is one of the railways specified
in the First Schedule to "The Public Works Act,
1879," and which Act is therein declared to be a
special Act authorizing the construction of such rail-
way; and the same is unfinished, and it has been
determined to construct and maintain a further
portion of such railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
and in pursuance of the powers and authorities con-
ferred on me by sections one hundred and twenty-two,
one hundred and twenty-three, one hundred and
twenty-four, and one hundred and twenty-five of
"The Public Works Act, 1876," and in exercise of
every other power and authority enabling me in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the
middle line of the said further portion of the said
railway shall be from a point in Section number one
hundred and fifty-nine, and terminating at a point
in said section, as also from a point in Section
number one hundred and sixty to a point in said
section, all within the Survey District of Wai-iti,
Provincial District of Nelson, as defined and set forth
in the Schedule hereto. The said middle line and the
land through which the same passes are set forth in the
map and plan marked P. W.D. 8775, and authenticated
for the purposes of this Proclamation by the signa-
ture of the Honorable Harry Albert Atkinson,
Minister acting for the Minister for Public Works,
and which said map and plan is deposited in the
office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at
Nelson, in the Provincial District of Nelson.

SCHEDULE.
COMMENCING at a point marked 1 mile 18 chains on
the portion of the Amberley to Cook Strait Rail-
way, as proclaimed on the 11th June, 1879, and pub-
lished in the New Zealand Gazette No. 67, of the
19th June, 1879, and proceeding thence in a north-
westerly direction for a distance of 832 links, passing
in, into, through, or over the following lands: Section
No. 159, and terminating at a point in said section.

Also commencing at a point marked 2 miles 40
chains on the portion of the Amberley to Cook
Strait Railway, in Section No. 160, as quoted above,
and proceeding thence in a south-easterly direction
for a distance of 7 chains, and terminating at a point
on the bank of the Wai-iti; all within the Survey
District of Wai-iti, Provincial District of Nelson,
Colony of New Zealand; and including all adjoining
and intervening places, lands, roads, reserves, streams,
rivers, and watercourses; in the manner delineated
upon the plan marked P.W.D. 8775, signed by the
Honorable Harry Albert Atkinson, Minister acting
for the Minister for Public Works, deposited in the
office of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at
Nelson, in the Provincial District of Nelson, Colony
of New Zealand.

mouth Railway, Bellgrove Section (further
Portion of).

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by a Proclamation issued under the
authority of sections one hundred and twenty-
two, one hundred and twenty-three, one hun-
dred and twenty-four of "The Public Works Act,
1876," the middle line of a portion of the line of
railway from Nelson to Greymouth, being one of the
railways specified in "The Public Works Act, 1879,"
was defined: And whereas pursuant to the one hun-
dred and twenty-fifth section of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," the Minister for Public Works has caused
to be made and, on the fourteenth day of June, one
thousand eight hundred and seventy-nine, and on the
seventeenth day of February, one thousand eight
hundred and eighty-two, to be deposited in the office
of the Registrar of the Supreme Court at Nelson, in
the Provincial District of Nelson, such maps and
plans as were necessary to explain the said portion
of the said line of railway and the land through
which the same passes, and such maps and plans
were referred to in such Proclamation as aforesaid:
And whereas "The Public Works Act, 1879," enacts
that such of the railways mentioned therein as are
unfinished may be completed under the provisions of
"The Public Works Act, 1876," "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and "The Public
Works Act, 1879:" And whereas the land described
in the Schedule hereto is required to be taken for
the said portion of the said line of railway:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities conferred by the sixth
section of "The Public Works Act 1876 Amendment
Act, 1878," and of every power and authority in that
behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that the land
described in the Schedule hereto is taken for the said
portion of the said line of railway.

SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 3 roods 20 perches, being portion of
Section No. 159, commencing at a point on the south-
