THE NEW ZEALAND GAZETTE.

MANUKAU COUNTY.

Pukorokoro.—Being all that area in the County of
Manukau not included in Proclamation defining
licensing districts in New Zealand Gazette No. 5,
20th January, 1882. Bounded by a line commencing
at the easternmost corner of the Mataitai Block No.
3, in the Parish of Taupo, and proceeding southerly
along the eastern boundary-lines of said Mataitai
Block No. 3 and the Mataitai Blocks Nos. 4 and 6,
said Parish of Taupo, to the junction of the eastern
boundary-line of the last-named block with the line
known as the Wairoa Confiscation boundary-line;
thence north-westerly along said confiscation boun-
dary-line to the road which forms the south-eastern
boundary of Allotment No. 25 and part of the south-
eastern boundary of Allotment No. 24, Parish of
Otau, to the Waimoko River; thence along the said
Waimoko River to the road which forms the south-
eastern boundary of Allotment No. 30, Parish of
Otau aforesaid; thence along said road to the Wairoa
River; thence southerly along the centre of the Wai-
roa River aforesaid and the centre of the Mangawheau
River to the southern boundary-lines of the Parish
of Hunua; thence easterly along the said southern
boundary-lines of said Parish of Hunua to the Wai-
roa River aforesaid; thence to and along the north-
western boundary-line of Allotment No. 4, Parish of
Otau aforesaid, to the north-eastern corner of said
Allotment No. 4; thence southerly along the eastern
boundary-lines of said Allotment No. 4 to and across
a road-line, along the eastern boundary-lines of Allot-
ments Nos. 8 and 38 to the south-eastern corner of
the last-mentioned allotment; thence along a right
line to the north-eastern corner of Allotment No. 10,
Parish of Otau aforesaid; thence along the eastern
boundary-lines of said Allotment No. 10 and of Allot-
ments Nos. 37 and 11 to the south-eastern corner of the
last-mentioned allotment; thence along a right line in a
south-easterly direction to the Maungatawhiri River;
thence along the centre of the said Maungatawhiri
River to the north-eastern boundary-line of Allot-
ment No. 34, Parish of Otau aforesaid; thence along
a right line to the confiscation boundary-line at a
point where it joins the south side of a road which
forms the southern boundary of Allotment No. 36,
Parish of Otau aforesaid; thence along said con-
fiscation boundary-line to the northern boundary-line
of Allotment No. 39, Parish of Koheroa; thence
westerly along said northern boundary-line to the
north-western corner of Allotment No. 39 aforesaid,
and continuing along the western boundary-line of
Allotment No. 39 aforesaid to the centre of the
Pukorokoro Road; thence along the centre of the said
Pukorokoro Road to the south-eastern boundary of
Allotment No. 37, Parish of Koheroa aforesaid;
thence along the south-eastern and part of the south-
western boundary-lines of said Allotment No. 37 to
the centre of the Pukorokoro Road aforesaid, and
continuing thence along the centre of the said road
to a point on the same being the termination of a
right line produced at right ang'les to the northern
boundary of Allotment No. 59, Parish of Koheroa
aforesaid; thence along the said line to the northern
boundary-line of said Allotment No. 59, Parish of
Koheroa aforesaid; thence along part of the northern
boundary-line of Allotment No. 59 aforesaid to its
north-eastern corner; thence along a right line to
the north-western corner of Allotment No. 91, Parish
of Koheroa aforesaid; thence along the north-eastern
the said north-eastern boundary-line produced to the
Maramarua River; thence easterly along the centre
of that river to its intersection by the high road and
telegraph line from Pukorokoro to Mercer; thence
along said high road and telegraph line to Puko-
rokoro; thence by the Firth of Thames and the
Tamaki Strait to the place of commencement: in-
cluding the Islands of Great Barrier, Little Barrier,
Kawau, Waiheke, Ponui, Rangitoto, the D'Haussez
Group, Mayor, and Motiti, and all adjacent islands.

SOUNDS COUNTY.

Sounds.—Being all that area known as Sounds
County. Bounded towards the South-west by a
right line bearing north 45° west from the southern-
most point of White's Bay to the summit of the
watershed between Cloudy Bay and Waitohi Valley;
thence towards the West by that watershed to the
north-east boundary of the Waikawa Native Reserve,
and by that boundary to the sea; thence by the sea
to the northern boundary of a block of land granted
to one Joseph Toms at a point 1870 links from a
stream called Te Awa; thence by a right line to the
north-western corner of Section No. 21, Pelorus
Sound; thence by the sea-coast to Watanihi Point;
thence by the watershed from Watanihi Point to
Mount Elliott; thence towards the West by the
summit of the Examiner Ridge to Elaine Bay, Tenny-
son Inlet; thence by a line due west to the waters
of Croixelles Harbour; thence towards the North
and East by the sea to White's Bay: including
D'Urville Island, Kapiti, Mana, and all adjacent
islands.

FIORD COUNTY.

Fiord.—Being all that area known as the Fiord
County. Bounded by a right line commencing at
the nearest arm of George Sound and proceeding to
Barrier Peaks; thence by lines from peak to peak to
and over Mount Lyell, the Murchison Mountains, the
Kepler Mountains, the Hunter Mountains, and the
Billow Mountains to the Hump; thence by the
summit of the watershed from the Hump to Sand-
hill Point; thence by the ocean to George Sound,
the place of commencement: including the Auckland
Islands and adjacent islands.

STEWART ISLAND COUNTY.

Stewart Island.—Being all that area known as
Stewart Island County, which includes the Islands
of Stewart and Ruapuke and other adjacent islands.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
sixteenth day of February, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by section seventeen of " The Muni-
cipal Corporations Act, 1876," the Governor
is empowered, by Proclamation, to declare any dis-
trict in New Zealand to be a borough under the said
Act, from and after a day to be named in such Pro-
clamation:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
