Special Licensing Districts.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS by the sixth section of "The Licens-
ing Act, 1881," it is enacted that the Governor
shall, as soon as conveniently may be after the com-
mencement of the said Act, by Proclamation in the
Gazette, from time to time define districts to be
licensing districts under the said Act, and from time
to time may alter and redefine the boundaries of the
same:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby,
in pursuance and exercise of the power and authority
vested in me by the said Act, proclaim and define the
several parts of the colony mentioned and described
in the Schedule hereto to be special licensing districts
for the purposes of the said Act, and that each such
district shall be known by the name by which it is
designated in the said Schedule.

SCHEDULE.

RAGLAN COUNTY.

Whaingaroa.—Being part of that area known as
Raglan County. Bounded by a line commencing at
the mouth of the Waikato River, and proceeding
along the centre of that river to its confluence with
the Waipa River; thence along the centre of the
last-mentioned river to its intersection by the northern
boundary-line of Allotment No. 21 produced; thence
westerly to and along the northern boundary-lines of
said Allotment No. 21 and Allotment No. 17, to
and across a road-line, thence along the northern
boundary-line of Allotment No. 28, to and across
a road-line, thence along the northern boundary-
lines of Allotments Nos. 42, 41, 40, 39, to and
across a road-line, and thence along the northern
boundary-line of Allotment No. 43, all of the
Parish of Karamu, and along the northern boun-
dary-line of the last-named allotment produced to
the summit of the Tena Ranges; thence southerly
along the summit of the said Tena Ranges to a
point near the source of the Waitetuna River;
thence to the source and along the centre of said
Waitetuna River to its confluence with the Otonga;
thence by the centre of the latter river to part of the
eastern boundary-line of Allotment No. 173; thence
along other part of said eastern boundary-line of Allot-
ment No. 173 aforesaid and the eastern boundary-line
of Allotment No. 167, Parish of Karamu aforesaid, to
the north-eastern angle of last-mentioned allotment;
thence northerly by a right line to north-east corner of
Allotment No. 55, Parish of Waipa; thence along the
north-eastern and north-western boundary-lines of
said Allotment No. 55, and by lines so as to include
Allotments Nos. 74, 73, 71, 72, 33, 56, 59, and 60,
all of the Parish of Waipa aforesaid, to the Whai-
ngaroa Harbour; thence by said harbour and the
ocean to the place of commencement: including all
islands in the Waikato River from its mouth to its
confluence with the Waipa River.

Kawhia.—Being all that area known as Kawhia
County. Bounded by a line commencing at the
mouth of the Pakoko Creek, in the Aotea Harbour,
and proceeding along the centre of said creek to the
Matau (old pa); thence by a right line to the south-
easternmost angle of Allotment No. 101, Parish of
Karioi; thence north-easterly along the south-eastern
boundary-line of said Allotment No. 101 and the
south-eastern boundary-lines of Allotments Nos. 100,
97, 103, and 104 to the easternmost angle of the last
mentioned allotment; thence by a right line to the
southernmost angle of Allotment No. 63, Parish of
Whaingaroa; thence along the south-easternmost
boundary-line of last-mentioned allotment and the
south-easternmost boundary-lines of Allotments Nos.
62, 61, 61A, and 60, all of the Parish of Whaingaroa
aforesaid, to the Waitetuna River; thence southerly
thence by a right line to the summit of the Teriki
Range, where the Native track crosses the said range;
thence by a right line to Mount Tahuanui; thence
by a right line to Mount Pirongia; thence easterly
along the confiscation boundary-line to the confluence
of the Waipa and the Puniu Rivers; thence by a line
passing over the summit of Kakepuka to the summit
of Mount Rangitoto; thence westerly by a right line
to the most northerly source of the Mokau River,
and along the centre of that river to the ocean;
thence by the ocean to Pakoko Creek, in Aotea Har-
bour, the place of commencement.

WEST TAUPO COUNTY.

West Taupo.—Being all that area known as the
County of West Taupo. Bounded by a line com-
mencing at the confluence of the Waipa and the
Puniu Rivers, and proceeding along the centre of the
latter river to its intersection by the confiscation
boundary-line; thence north-easterly along the said
confiscation boundary-line to the Waikato River;
thence southerly along the centre of the said Waikato
River to its intersection by a right line drawn from
Kopuahau across said Waikato River to Maungatau-
tari Mountain; thence south-westerly along said right
line to summit of the said Maungatautari Mountain;
thence south-easterly by a right line to Uira Gorge;
thence southerly by a right line to the mouth of the
Waihora Stream in Lake Taupo; thence along the
western shore of that lake to the mouth of the Waihi
Stream; thence by a right line to the summit of
Tongariro Mountain; thence westerly by a right line
to the eastern corner of the Kirikau Block; thence
along the northern boundary-line of said Kirikau
Block to the Wanganui River; thence northerly
along the centre of the last-named river, the centre
of the Tuhua River, and along the centre of the Onga-
ruhe River to its source; thence by a right line to the
summit of Mount Rangitoto; thence northerly along
the eastern boundary-line of the Kawhia Licensing
District, hereinbefore more particularly defined, to
the confluence of the Waipa and the Puniu Rivers,
the place of commencement.

EAST TAUPO COUNTY.

East Taupo.—Being all that area known as the
County of East Taupo. Bounded by a line com-
mencing at the Uira Gorge and proceeding easterly
along a right line to Waiwhakahihi Trig. Station;
thence along a right line to Tawhiwhau Trig. Station;
thence southerly along a right line to the summit of
the Tatarakino Mountain; thence westerly along a
right line to the junction of the Rangitaiki River and
the main road from Napier to Tapuaeharuru; thence
along a right line to the eastern boundary-line of the
Tauhara South Block; thence along the centres of
the Taharua and the Mohaka Rivers to where the
production of a right line drawn from Trig. Station
No. 65A to Trig. Station No. 68A strikes the last-
named river; thence along said line to said Trig.
Station No. 65A; thence westerly along a right line
to Trig. Station No. 26 on Tawheketewhango; thence
along a right line to Trig. Station No. 27, Patea-
Taupo District; thence along a right line to the
summit of Ruapehu Mountain; thence northerly
by right lines from peak to peak to the summit of
Tongariro Mountain; thence along the eastern boun-
dary-lines of the West Taupo Licensing District,
hereinbefore more particularly defined, to Uira Gorge,
the place of commencement.
