The above rates will cover the cost of all labour
connected with the hauling up and launching, the
crew of the vessel to give their assistance as may be
required. The cost of blocking a vessel or shifting
the blocks after hauling up to be paid by the vessel.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of February, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS it has been made to appear that cer-
tain things required to be done by "The
Rating Act, 1876," in connection with the prepara-
tion and revision of the valuation roll of the Borough
of Hawera cannot be done by or within the times
mentioned in the said Act:
Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise of the powers
vested in him by the said "Rating Act, 1876," and
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, doth hereby extend the
times for doing the said things in connection with the
valuation roll of the said Borough of Hawera, and
doth declare that the times for doing such several
things shall be those specified in the Schedule hereto.
SCHEDULE.
- For transmitting to the Borough Council the
valuation list: On or before the 3rd March, 1882. - Valuation list to be open for inspection and
objections thereto to be received: Until the 3rd
April, 1882.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of February, 1882.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
WHEREAS by an Order in Council bearing date
the eighteenth day of May, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty, made and issued under the
authority of "The Public Domains Act, 1860," "The
Public Domains Act, 1865," and "The Public Re-
serves Act, 1877," certain powers were, in respect
of certain lands referred to in a further Order in
Council of the same date, made and issued under
"The Public Reserves Act, 1877," aforesaid, dele-
gated to Thomas Hamilton Anson, George Bedford,
Archibald McNae, Nehemiah Stevens Kingdom, and
Orfeur George Parker:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the

Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue
and exercise of the powers and authorities vested
in me by "The Public Domains Act, 1881," and
by and with the advice of the Executive Council
of the said colony, do hereby revoke the Order in
Council delegating the Governor's powers to the
above-named persons; and do hereby further dele-
gate, in respect of the lands referred to in the afore-
said Orders in Council, all the powers conferred by
"The Public Domains Act, 1881," except the powers
under or conferred by sections five and twelve, to
the under-mentioned persons, who shall be known as
the Courtenay Domain Board:-
THOMAS HAMILTON ANSON,
GEORGE BEDFORD,
ARCHIBALD MCNAE,
ORFEUR GEORGE PARKER, and
JOHN TURNER
(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say, -
- The Board shall meet for the transaction of
business on the second Tuesday in each month, at
half-past seven o'clock p.m., at the Public Library,
Courtenay, or at such other time or place as may from
time to time be fixed by the Board. The first meeting
shall be held on Tuesday, the seventh day of March,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-two. - Special meetings may be convened by the Chair-
man, or by any two members of the Board, provided
that two days' notice of such meeting be given to
each member, specifying the business to be trans-
acted at such special meeting, and no other business
than that so specified shall be transacted at such
meeting. - Any three of the said Board shall form a
quorum. Any meeting may be adjourned from time
to time. - The members of the Board shall, at their first
meeting, and thereafter at an annual meeting to be
held on the second Monday in January in every suc-
ceeding year thereafter, elect one of themselves to
be Chairman, who may join in the discussion, and
shall have an original as well as a casting vote. The
Chairman shall hold office until the election of his
successor. - If at any meeting the Chairman is not present
at the time appointed for holding the same, the mem-
bers present shall choose some one of their number
to be Chairman of such meeting. - If, by resignation, death, or incapacity, or other-
wise, the office of Chairman shall be or become vacant,
the members may at any monthly or special meeting
appoint a Chairman. - All questions shall be determined by the majority
of votes of the members of the Board present at a
meeting.

Notification of the Payment of Money on and Entry
into Negotiations for the Purchase of Native Lands
in the North Island.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
IN pursuance of the provisions of "The Govern-
ment Native Land Purchases Act, 1877," it is
hereby notified that money has been paid by or on
behalf of Her Majesty the Queen for the purchase
or acquisition of the block of Native land in the
North Island which is more particularly described
and mentioned in the Schedule hereto; and, further,
that negotiations in respect of such purchase or
acquisition as aforesaid have been entered into by or
on behalf of Her said Majesty.
