Road District and annexed to the Riccarton Road
District; and, further, that from and after the date
hereof, the said Avon Road District and Riccarton
Road District shall be deemed to be new districts,
with the boundaries described in the Second Schedule
hereto.
FIRST SCHEDULE.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, situate in the Christchurch Survey District,
bounded towards the North-west by the Waima-
kariri River, from the western corner of Section
No. 5620 to Treleaven's Road; towards the North-
east by said road to the North Road; towards the
South-east, East, and again towards the South-east
by the North Road; towards the South-west by the
Harewood Road by Papanui to Section No. 112;
again towards the North-west by said section, a road-
line, and Section No. 189A to the north-west corner
of Section No. 25; thence towards the East by a
right line to the south-west corner of Section No. 292
and by a road-line west of that section and Sections
Nos. 291, 290, 280, 279, and 243; and again towards
the North-west, West, and towards the South by
Sections Nos. 5080, 1633, 1632, 835, and 806, a road-
line, and by Section No. 1747, and by a road-line to
the western corner of Section No. 5620, the starting
point: as the same is delineated on the plan deposited
in the District Survey Office, Christchurch.
SECOND SCHEDULE.
AVON ROAD DISTRICT.
ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, situate in the Christchurch Survey District,
bounded towards the West, North-east, and East by
the Waimakariri River, from a point at which the
western side of Treleaven's Road produced intersects
its right bank to the ocean, by the ocean to the mouth
of the River Avon; towards the South-east and
South by that river and the City of Chistchurch to a
road south-west of Section No. 6; again towards the
West by that road and a road forming the north-
western boundary of Section No. 7, by the River
Avon, by Section No. 242, a road-line, Sections
Nos. 453 and 2382, a road-line, Sections Nos. 1101,
2200, and 323 to the Harewood Road by Papanui, by
that road, and by the western side of the North Road,
and Treleaven's Road to the commencing point: as
the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the
District Survey Office, Christchurch.
RICCARTON ROAD DISTRICT.
All that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, situate in the Christchurch Survey District,
bounded towards the North-west by the River Wai-
makariri, froin the north-west corner of Section
No. 7449 to the Avon District hereinbefore described;
towards the East by that district, by the River Avon,
and the City of Christchurch to the Lincoln Road;
towards the South-east by that road to Archer's
Bridge; towards the South-west by the Lincoln and
Riccarton Junction Road, the Great South Road, and
the Harewood Road by Riccarton; and again towards
the North-west and towards the West by the Prebble-
ton and Kaiapoi Junction Road to starting point: as
the same is delineated on the plan deposited in the
District Survey Office, Christchurch.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fourteenth day of February, in the year
of our Lord one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-two.

Setting apart Land in Otago for Sale on Deferred
Payments.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS by the fifty-fourth section of "The
Mines Act, 1877," it is, amongst other things,
enacted that it shall be lawful for the Governor to
cause Crown lands situate within a gold field to be
selected and set apart for the purpose of granting
agricultural leases thereon and therefor, or for
alienation by occupation licenses on deferred pay-
ments under any law for the time being in force in
the land district in which such mining district is
situate:
And whereas the lands described in the Schedule
hereto are Crown lands subject to be dealt with, under
the said Act, for alienation by occupation licenses on
deferred payments as aforesaid :-
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
select and set apart, for the purpose of alienation by
occupation licenses on deferred payments, the lands
described in the Schedule hereto; and do fix Wed-
nesday, the twenty-second day of March, one thou-
sand eight hundred and eighty-two, as the day on
which the said allotments shall be open for applica-
tion in allotments, as surveyed and marked on the
survey map in the office of the Commissioner of
Crown Lands, Dunedin.
And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be at the rate of thirty shillings per
acre.
