Land taken for Road Purposes in the Parish of
Pirongia.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of a road through part of
Lot two hundred and sixteen, Parish of Pirongia, in
the Provincial District of Auckland:
And whereas the Pirongia District Board has laid
before the Governor the memorial and map men-
tioned in and signed and certified as required by the
said Acts:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, in exercise and pur-
suance of the powers and authorities in me vested
by sections twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three,
twenty-four, and twenty-five of "The Public Works
Act, 1876," and by section twenty-eight of "The
Public Works Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and
of any other power and authority enabling me in
that behalf, do hereby proclaim and declare that
the land described in the Schedule hereto is hereby
taken for the purposes of a road; and that, from
and after the day of the date hereof, the land so de-
scribed shall become absolutely vested in fee-simple
in Her Majesty, discharged from all mortgages,
charges, claims, estates, and interests of what kind
soever, for use as a road.
SCHEDULE.
ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 3 roods, more or less, and being part
of Lot 216, Parish of Pirongia, Alexander Survey
District, Provincial District of Auckland. Com-
mencing at a point distant from the most north-
western angle of Lot 216 aforesaid, 348 links.
Bounded towards the North-west by a road, 115 links;
towards the East by a line, 870 links; towards the
South-west by a road, 188 links; and towards the
West by a line to the point of commencement, 643
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
seventh day of February, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

IN exercise of the powers vested in me by "The
Canterbury Roads Ordinance, 1872," "The
Abolition of Provinces Act, 1875," "The Canterbury
Roads Ordinance Amendment Act, 1877," and "The
Canterbury Roads Ordinance Amendment Act Ex-
tension Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
proclaim and declare that the land described in the
First Schedule hereto shall be severed from the Avon
