the twenty-fifth day of January, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-two, pass a resolution
recommending that the land described in the
Schedule hereto annexed should be withdrawn from
the deferred-payment system:
And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation:
Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pur-
suance and exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the above-named Acts, do hereby
revoke the Proclamation above referred to, so far as
it relates to the sections therein mentioned and
included in the Schedule hereto, and do proclaim
and declare that the said sections are hereby with-
drawn from the operation of the deferred-payment
system.

BLOCK XI., Sections 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 13, 14,
15, and 37.

Regulations and Charges for use of Telephones.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.
At the Government House, at Wellington, this
seventh day of February, 1882.
Present :
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.
IN pursuance and in exercise of the powers vested
in him by "The Electric Telegraph Act, 1875,"
and "The Electric Telegraph Act 1875 Amendment
Act, 1881," and of all other powers enabling him in
that behalf, His Excellency the Governor of the
Colony of New Zealand doth, with the advice and
consent of the Executive Council of the said colony,
make the regulations contained in the Schedule
hereto in relation to the charges to be made for the
use of telephones wherever established in this colony
in connection with the telephone exchanges, and doth
further order and declare that such regulations shall
take effect on and after the date of the gazetting
hereof.
SCHEDULE.
THROUGHOUT this regulation, "exchange" means any
telegraph office to which a number of private tele-
phone wires are led in for the purpose of intercom-
munication amongst the subscribers.
A. "bureau station" means any ordinary telegraph
station connected by telephone with an exchange.
The following shall be the charges to be paid by
the public for the use of Government telephones
wherever established in the colony at a bureau station
in connection with an exchange :-
Where the line used is not more than four miles
long, a uniform charge of 6d. for the use of same
for any period not exceeding five minutes, and a
further charge of 6d. for every additional five minutes
or portion of five minutes.
Where the line used is over four miles long, the
charges will be 1s. for the use of same for any period
not exceeding five minutes, and a further charge of
1s. for every additional five minutes or portion of
five minutes.
Any message telephoned by a subscriber through
an exchange to a bureau station, and received and
delivered by the department within the ordinary
circuits of delivery, will be charged 6d. in addition
to the above rates.
Messages outside of the limits described above
will be subject to special charges for delivery, accord-
ing to the extra expense incurred in such delivery.

"Westland and Nelson Coal Fields Administration
Amendment Act, 1881."-Empowering Minister
to run Trains, &c., over certain Private Lines.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
IN pursuance of the powers given by "The West-
land and Nelson Coal Fields Administration
Amendment Act, 1881," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do
hereby empower the Minister for Public Works for
the time being to run trains and rolling-stock, at such
times and in such manner as the Minister may think
fit, for conveying goods and passengers on the rail-
ways named below, being railways constructed or
deemed to be constructed under the authority of
"The Westland and Nelson Coal Fields Administra-
tion Act, 1877," and to do all things necessary in
connection with running such trains and rolling-
stock.
SCHEDULE.
THE Koranui Coal-Mining Company's line, Waima-
ngaroa Valley, from its junction with the Westport-
Ngakawau line to its junction with Westport Colliery
Company's line.
The Westport Colliery Company's line, from its
junction with the Koranui Coal-Mining Company's
line to the foot of the Westport Colliery Company's
incline, comprehending the sidings at the foot of the
said incline.
As witness the hand of His Excellency
the Governor, this sixth day of February,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
two.

constituted.
ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.
UNDER and in pursuance of the powers and
authorities vested in me by an Act of the Pro-
vince of Auckland intituled "The Highways Act,
1874," and by "The Abolition of Provinces Act,
1875," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, hereby notify that I do
hereby create that portion of the Provincial District
of Auckland described in the Schedule hereto a new
highway district, under the said "Highways Act,
1874," by the distinctive name of the Otonga
Highway District, and I declare that the boundaries
