Waingawa River; thence following the centre thereof
to its junction with the Ruamahanga River; thence
following the centre of the Ruamahanga River
downwards to a point where the Ruamahanga River
is touched by the southern boundary of Section
No. 16; thence following the said southern boundary
to where it touches the Taueru River; thence follow-
ing the centre of the Taueru River upwards to the
south-western corner of Section No. 95; thence fol-
lowing the southern boundary of said section and of
Sections Nos. 105, 104, 103, 102; thence by a line
bearing due south (magnetic) to the northern boun-
dary of a section in Native occupation, and marked
on the plan of the county as Te Kabu; thence easterly
and south-easterly following the boundary of said
section to its junction with Section No. 69; thence
following the western boundary of Sections Nos. 69
and 49 to a point 110 chains 25 links distant from
Ngatukoko; thence by a line bearing 350° 37', and
distance 82.40 links; thence by a line bearing 13° 34',
distance 26.25 links; thence by a line bearing 25° 40',
distance 37.35 links; thence by a line bearing 5° 14',
distance 19:50 links; thence by a line bearing 16° 17'
to where it intersects the southern boundary of
Section No. 52; thence following the southern boun-
daries of Sections Nos. 52, 63, 75; thence along the
eastern boundary of Section No. 76 to the Wainuioru
River; thence following the centre of the Wainuioru
River upwards to its junction with the Kuamahunga
Stream; thence following the Kuamahunga Stream
to the southern corner of Section No. 130; thence
by a line bearing 95° to where it strikes the Kaiwhata
River; thence along the centre of the Kaiwhata River
to the ocean; towards the East and South to Taou-
rakira Head by the ocean; towards the West by the
Hutt and Manawatu Counties to the point of com-
mencement.

WAIRARAPA EAST COUNTY.

Bounded towards the South from the source of the
Waingawa River by the Wairarapa West County, as
hereinbefore defined; towards the East from the
mouth of the Kaiwhata River to the mouth of the
Waimata Stream by the sea; towards the North by
the Waipawa County; and towards the West to the
point of commencement by the Manawatu County.

WAITAKI COUNTY.

Bounded towards the North-east by Waimate
County, as described in the First Schedule to "The
Counties Act, 1876," from the northern corner of
Run No. 261 to the ocean; thence towards the South-
east and East by the ocean to the northernmost point
of Block III., Moeraki Survey District; thence again
towards the East and towards the South by the said
Block III., Moeraki Survey District, to the eastern
corner of Section No. 7, said block and survey dis-
trict; theuce towards the South-west by the west
side of a road-line through Blocks IX. and XI.,
Moeraki Survey District aforesaid, to the north-east
corner of Block VI., Moeraki Survey District afore-
said; thence again towards the South by said Block
VI. to the eastern boundary of Block XII., Moeraki
Survey District aforesaid; thence towards the West
and again towards the South by the said Block XII.
to the intersection of the northern boundary-line of
Block XII. aforesaid, by the eastern boundary-line of
Section No. 4, Block XIV., Moeraki Survey District
aforesaid; thence again towards the West by the
said eastern boundary-line of said Section No. 4, and
that boundary-line produced across a road-line;
thence again towards the South-west by the northern
side of the last-mentioned road-line through said
Block XIV. and Block XV., Moeraki Survey District
aforesaid, to the south-eastern boundary-line of Block
III., Waihemo Survey District, near Trig. Station M;

thence towards the North-west by said Block III.;
and again towards the South-west by Block III.
aforesaid, by Block V., Waihemo Survey District
aforesaid, and by the summit of the Kakanui Moun-
tains, through the Maruwenua Pass to Kyeburn Hill;
thence again towards the South and South-west by
the summit of the Mount Ida and Hawkdun Moun-
tains to a point due east from Mount St. Bathans;
thence again towards the South by a line drawn due
west to the said Mount St. Bathans; thence again
towards the South-west and North-west by the sum-
mit of the range through Lindis Pass to Longslip
Hill; by the summit of that range to Mount Ward,
and by Westland County, as described in the First
Schedule to "The Counties Act, 1876;" thence
towards the East and North-east by Geraldine
County, as also described in the First Schedule to
"The Counties Act, 1876," to the northern corner
of Run No. 261, the starting point: exclusive of the
Boroughs of Oamaru and Hampden.

WAIHEMO COUNTY.

Bounded towards the North by the Waitaki County,
hereinbefore described, from Kakanui Peak to the
ocean; thence towards the East by the ocean to
Pleasant River; thence towards the South and West
by Pleasant River and Annan's Creek to the Main
North Road; thence towards the West by the said
Main North Road to where it last crosses the said
Pleasant River; thence again towards the South
by Pleasant River aforesaid; thence again towards the
West by a line running due north to Taieri Peak;
thence again towards the South by a right line
running due west to the Waikouaiti River; thence
by the said Waikouaiti River to the southern
boundary-line of Block I., Highlay Survey District;
thence by Budle Survey District to the western
boundary of Run No. 121B; thence towards the
South-east by said Run No. 121B and the Nenthorn
Creek; thence again towards the South by Run
No. 307, and by a line being part of a right line
drawn from the Hummock to the Taieri River in line
with the south-western corner of pre-emptive right
(Gardner and Main's), Strath Taieri Survey District;
thence by the centre of that river to Horse Burn;
thence by the centre of that stream to the Fork, and
by a right line from the said Fork to Flat Hill; thence
by the summit of a leading ridge to the main road;
thence by a line to the nearest branch of the Shag
River, flowing south-westerly, by that river to its
source; and thence by a right line to Kakanui Peak,
the starting point: exclusive of the Borough of
Palmerston.

PENINSULA COUNTY.

Bounded towards the North-west and North by
the Otago Harbour; towards the East and South
by the ocean to the south-eastern angle of the
Borough of Caversham; thence towards the South-
west by the said Borough of Caversham; thence
towards the North-west by the Borough of St. Kilda;
and thence again towards the South-west by the said
Borough of St. Kilda to the said Otago Harbour.

TAIERI COUNTY.

Bounded towards the North-west and North-east
by Maniototo County, as described in the First
Schedule to "The Counties Act, 1876," from Lam-
merlaw to the Taieri River; thence again towards the
North-east by the Waikouaiti County, also described
in the First Schedule to "The Counties Act, 1876,"
from the said Taieri River to Swampy Hill; thence
towards the South-east, South, again towards the
South-east, towards the North, again towards the
South-east, and again towards the North-east by the
Boroughs of Maori Hill, Roslyn, Mornington, and
Caversham respectively, and by the south-western
