deferred payments such blocks or allotments as may
be recommended by any Land Board, and may also
from time to time alter, amend, or revoke any such
Proclamation:

And whereas the Land Board of Taranaki did, on
the ninth day of January, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-two, pass a resolution recommending
that the land described in the Schedule hereto an-
nexed should be set apart for sale on deferred pay-
ments:

And whereas it is expedient to give effect to the
aforesaid recommendation, and to set apart the said
land accordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in pursu-
ance and exercise of the power and authority vested
in me by the above-named Act, do hereby proclaim
and declare that the land described in the Schedule
hereto is set apart for sale on deferred payments;
and that Wednesday, the fifteenth day of March, one
thousand eight hundred and eighty-two, shall be the
day on which the said land shall be open for applica-
tion at the Land Office at New Plymouth, in allot-
ments as surveyed and marked on the selection map
in that office.

In pursuance of section four of "The Land Act
1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do hereby declare
that subsection four of the sixty-third section of
"The Land Act, 1877," shall not apply to any of the
lands described in the Schedule hereto.

And, further, in pursuance of the fifth section of
"The Land Act 1877 Amendment Act, 1879," I do
hereby fix the price at which the land so described
shall be sold to be the price set opposite each allot-
ment in the Schedule hereto.

tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
thirtieth day of January, in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-two.

for a public library: And whereas, in the opinion
of the Governor, it is expedient to exchange the said
land for that mentioned in the second column hereto,
being land of equal value therewith, which, by con-
veyance or transfer executed prior to the passing of
the Order in Council, has been vested in Her Majesty
the Queen: And whereas it is further desirable, in
the opinion of the Governor, to dedicate the said
land so vested in Her Majesty for the same purpose,
to wit, as a site for a public library, and further to
vest the same, from the date of the gazetting hereof,
in the body corporate known as the Wairoa
Mechanics' Institute as trustees:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, and in exercise of the powers and authorities
vested in him by the fourth section of "The Public
Reserves Act, 1881," and of all other powers and
authorities in anywise enabling him in that behalf,
doth hereby declare that, from and after the day of
the date hereof, the land mentioned in the first
column of the Schedule hereto shall be exchanged
for that mentioned in the second column of the
Schedule hereto; and, by and with the like advice and
consent, doth further declare that the land described
in the second column aforesaid shall, from the date
hereof, become vested in the Wairoa Mechanics'
Institute (Incorporated), in trust, for the purposes of
a site for a public library.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the first column
of the Schedule hereto was reserved for a
gravel-pit: And whereas, in the opinion of the
Governor, it is expedient to exchange the said land
for that mentioned in the second column of the
Schedule hereto:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the fourth section of "The Public Reserves Act,
1881," doth hereby declare that, from and after the
day of the date hereof, the said reserve, mentioned
in the first column of the Schedule hereto, shall be
exchanged for the land mentioned in the second
column of the Schedule hereto.
