NOTICE is hereby given that Messrs. TURNBULL,
SMITH, AND Co., of Wellington, in the Colony
of New Zealand, Merchants, have applied, on behalf
of Messrs. J. E. AND W. CHRISTY AND CO., of 35,
Gracechurch Street, in the City of London, Eng-
land, Hat Manufacturers, to register, under "The
Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade marks of which
the following is a description, viz. :-

Description of Trade Mark No. 1.
The representation of a garter and buckle, sur-
mounted by a crown. On the garter are the words,
"Christy's, London;" within the garter is a shield
quartered. The dexter chief on a spotted back-
ground within a frame bears the representation of a
lion rampant; the dexter base and sinister chief,
each on a background of vertical lines, bears the
representation of three lions; and the sinister base
on a background of horizontal lines bears the repre-
sentation of a harp.

Description of Trade Mark No. 2.

Bonuses on Colonial Industries.

Wellington, 18th July, 1882.
NOTICE is hereby given that the following
bonuses will be paid on articles produced in the
Colony of New Zealand, as under:-

LINSEED OIL.
A bonus of five hundred pounds (£500) will be
given for the production, by machinery permanently
established in New Zealand, of the first 10,000 gallons
of oil, of good marketable quality, from linseed grown
in the colony.

OIL-CAKE.
A bonus of one hundred pounds (£100) will be
given for the production of the first 50 tons of oil-
cake, of good marketable quality, from linseed grown
in the colony.

SUGAR.
A bonus of one thousand pounds (£1,000) will be
given for the production of the first 125 tons of sugar,
manufactured in New Zealand, from beet or any
other root or plant grown in the colony.
