Land taken for Road in the Lower Mahurangi High-
way District, Auckland.

A PROCLAMATION.
WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of a road in the Lower Mahu-
rangi Highway District, Provincial District of Auck-
land:
And whereas the Lower Mahurangi District Board
has laid before the Governor the memorial and map
mentioned in and signed and certified as required by
the said Acts:
And whereas the two hundred and twenty-ninth
section of "The Public Works Act, 1882," enacts
that any public work authorized under the authority
of any Act repealed by this Act or of any Act or
Ordinance repealed by "The Public Works Act,
1876," and any land required to be taken, purchased,
or acquired for such work, or anything commenced
under any such authority as aforesaid, may be con-
tinued, taken, purchased, or acquired, executed, car-
ried out, enforced, and completed under the pro-
visions of this Act:
Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, the Admin-
istrator of the Government of the Colony of New
Zealand, in exercise and pursuance of the powers and
authorities in me vested by sections eleven and two
hundred and twenty-nine of "The Public Works
Act, 1882," and of every other power and authority in
anywise enabling me in that behalf, do hereby pro-
claim and declare that the land described in the
Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the purposes of a
road; and that, from and after the day of the date
hereof, the land so described shall become absolutely
vested in fee-simple in Her Majesty, discharged from
all mortgages, charges, claims, estates, or interests of
what kind soever, for use as a road.
SCHEDULE.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 3 acres, being a road-line 100 links wide traversing
Allotment No. 83, commencing at a distance of 1680
links from the north-eastern angle of Allotment No.
83 on its north-eastern boundary. Bounded towards
the East by other portion of Allotment No. 83, 192,
272, 839, and 587 links respectively; towards the
South by other portion of Allotment No. 83 afore-
said 393, 588, and 115 links respectively, and by a
line 152 links; towards the North by other portion
of Allotment No. 83 aforesaid, 243, 588, and 324
links respectively; towards the West by other por-
tion of Allotment No. 83 aforesaid, 493, 828, 312, and
221 links respectively; and towards the North-east
by a line, 100 links.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 2 acres 2 roods 18 perches, being a road-line
100 links wide traversing Allotment No. 115, com-
mencing at a distance of 1510 links from the north-
western angle of Allotment No. 115 on its north-
eastern boundary. Bounded towards the North-
east by a line, 152 links; towards the South-east by
other portion of Allotment No. 115, 263, 238, 95,
296, 174, 207, 185, 80, 254, 296, 225, 147, and 181
links respectively; towards the South-west by a line,
124 links; and towards the North-west by other
portion of Allotment No. 115 aforesaid, 23, 205, 147,
174, 281, 261, 124, 191, 197, 193, 312, 111, 254, and
159 links respectively.
All that parcel of land containing by admeasure-
ment 4 acres and 3 perches, being a road-line 100
links wide traversing Allotment No. 116, commencing
at a distance of 1988 links from the north-eastern
angle of Allotment No. 116 on its north-eastern
boundary. Bounded towards the East and North-
east by other portion of Allotment No. 116, 28, 82,
91, 247, 58, 163, 52, 157, 167, 154, 198, 87, 31, 44,
104, 162, 278, 176, 59, 59, 84, 96, 216, 244, 107, 60,
99, 144, 201, 99, 229, 152, and 31 links respectively;
towards the South-west by a line, 111 links; towards
the West and South-west by other portion of Allot-
ment No. 116 aforesaid, 65, 147, 224, 60, 222, 176,
28, 12, 84, 228, 211, 107, 78, 46, 64, 156, 293, 160,
98, 95, 74, 70, 182, 185, 188, 149, 49, 191, 90, 285,
130, and 57 links respectively; towards the North-
east by a line, 124 links.
ERRATUM.-In New Zealand Gazette No. 106, of the 7th instant, at page 1836, under the heading Volunteer Officers
resigned, for "Hawera Light Horse," read "Hawera Rifle Volunteers."
