NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.

Ahaura, 18th November, 1882.
To the Mining Registrar at Ahaura of the Nelson
South-West Gold Fields, and all other persons
whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race to divert and use water for the
purposes of driving machinery, irrigation, and other
industrial pursuits, commencing at a point at Orwell
Creek, on Ahaura Plains, about 2 chains easterly
of a reserved line of road leading from Main Grey
Valley Road, Pike's Plains, where said reserved line
of road intersects Orwell Creek, and about 10 chains
west from George Carter's cottage on Ahaura Plains,
and terminating at Reid's Saw-mills on north bank
of Orwell Creek, 15 chains from commencement,
being through Crown land; the remaining distance
or length being through the agricultural leasehold of
John Reid, the applicant.

The length of such race is one mile or thereabouts,
and its intended course is westerly. Estimated cost,
Β£150. Time for construction, three months. First
right of water. The mean depth of such race is 1
foot, and the mean breadth 3 feet, and it is pro-
posed to divert six Government-heads of water.

Naseby, 25th November, 1882.
To the Mining Registrar at Naseby, in the Mount
Ida Mining District, and to all other persons
whom it may concern.

TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race to divert and use water for irrigation
and domestic purposes, commencing at a point in
Andrew's Gully, on the east side of Rough Ridge,
taking half head of water therefrom; and from thence
to Smith's Gully, taking half head of water therefrom;
and from thence to Dad's Gully, taking one head of
water therefrom; and terminating in the County
Forest Reserve, in White Sow Valley.

The length of such race is about three miles, and
its intended course is south to north.

The mean depth of such race is 10 inches, and the

I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct
a Water-race to convey water for industrial
purposes, from a point at the bridge on River Poma-
haka, immediately below the Township of Kelso, to a
mill-site on banks of River Pomahaka, between rail-
way-line and river, about 10 chains further down the
said river.

The length of such race is 10 chains to mill-site
and 5 chains beyond or thereabouts, and its intended
course is south-south-east; to carry sixty Government-
heads of water.

The mean depth of such race is 12 feet, and the
mean breadth is 10 feet.

To the Mining Registrar at Ross, in the Totara
Mining District, and to all other persons whom it

HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct
a Water-race to divert and use water for mining
purposes, commencing at a point 200 yards above the
head of Brown's paddock, in the Mikonui River, and
terminating at my claim, north of Cockabulla Creek,
Donoghue's Beach.

The length of such race is five miles or thereabouts,
and its intended course is west.

The time estimated for construction and comple-
tion is twelve months.

The mean depth of such race is 3 feet, and the
mean breadth is 4 feet, and it is proposed to divert
sixteen Government-heads of water.

DANIEL BUNTIN.

Any person objecting to the granting of this appli-
cation must lodge his objection in writing at the
Warden's Office at Ross within fourteen clear days
from the date hereof.

Hearing at Ross, at 10 o'clock, on the 6th January,
