JAMES PRENDERGAST,
Administrator of the Government.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
twenty-eighth day of November, 1882.

Present:

HIS EXCELLENCE THE ADMINISTRATOR OF THE
GOVERNMENT IN COUNCIL.

WHEREEAS by the two hundred and twenty-
seventh section of "The Licensing Act, 1881,"
it is enacted that if, through any accidental or
unavoidable impediment, misfeasance, or omission,
anything required by the said Act to be done is
omitted to be done, or is not done within the time
fixed, the Governor in Council may take all such
measures as may be necessary for removing such
impediment or rectifying such misfeasance or
omission, and may validate anything which may have
been irregularly done in matter of form, so that the
intent and purpose of the said Act may have effect :
And whereas at the annual meeting of the Licensing
Committee for the Licensing District of Tolago,
held in June last, an application was made for a
license for a house called the "Rangatira Hotel,"
and situated in the said district: And whereas
the parties interested were in doubt as to whether
a personal attendance on the part of the applicant
was necessary, and in consequence of such doubt,
and the illness of members of his family, the
applicant was not present in person at such meeting:
And whereas the Licensing Committee for the said
Tolago Licensing District, in consequence of such
non-attendance at the annual licensing meeting,
did not at that time grant the application, but at a
subsequent meeting, on receiving an explanation of
the circumstances of the case, did grant and have
granted to Henry Morse a certificate for an accom-
modation license:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
in pursuance and exercise of all powers enabling him
in this behalf, and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, doth hereby

validate the grant of the said certificate to the said
Henry Morse.

FORSTER GORING,
Clerk of the Executive Council.

as, in the opinion of the Administrator of the
Government, it is expedient to vest the said land

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Administrator
of the Government of the Colony of New Zealand,
by and with the advice and consent of the Executive
Council of the said colony, and in exercise of the
powers and authorities vested in him by subsection
two of section twenty-four of "The Public Reserves
