A PROCLAMATION.

IN pursuance and exercise of the power vested in
me by "The Customs Regulation Act, 1858," I,
Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the Governor of the Colony
of New Zealand, do hereby proclaim and declare
that the ninth day of November instant shall be kept
as a holiday at the Customhouses at the several ports
of New Zealand, for the celebration of the Prince of
Wales' Birthday.

Given under the hand of His Excellency the
Honorable Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
Knight Grand Cross of the Most Dis-
tinguished Order of Saint Michael and
Saint George, Her Majesty's High
Commissioner for the Western Pacific,
Governor and Commander-in-Chief in
and over Her Majesty's Colony of New
Zealand and its Dependencies, and Vice-
Admiral of the same; and issued under
the Seal of the said Colony, at the
Government House, at Wellington, this
fourth day of November, in the year of
our Lord, one thousand eight hundred
and eighty-one.

Authorizing the taking and laying down of Roads
over Native Land in the Wellington Provincial
District.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

IN exercise and pursuance of all powers and au-
thorities enabling me in this behalf by "The
Native Land Act, 1873," "The Native Land Act
Amendment Act, 1878 (No. 2)," and "The Public
Works Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize

JOHN WILLIAM ALLMAN MARCHANT,
Chief Surveyor, of Wellington, to take and lay
down roads over the lands specified in the Schedule
hereto, and for that purpose to exercise all such
powers as by the said Acts may be exercised by a
person legally authorized in that behalf under the
said Acts.

one thousand eight hundred and eighty-

Native Land Act, 1873," "The Native Land Act
Amendment Act, 1878 (No. 2)," and "The Public
Works Act, 1880," I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, do hereby
authorize

GEORGE ALFRED MARTIN,
Assistant-Surveyor, of Auckland, to take and lay
down roads over the lands specified in the Schedule
hereto, and for that purpose to exercise all such
powers as by the said Acts may be exercised by a
person legally authorized in that behalf under the
said Acts.
