of irrigation, chaff-cutting, domestic purposes, and
for watering stock. The race commences in the
Cross-Eden or House Creek, about three miles below
road from Dunedin to Clyde, and about 120 chains
to the north-east of Trig. V. General course of race
north-west and south-east, terminating in five points
about west. The dam about 40 chains east of Trig.
V. Reservoir No. -, close to woolshed; No. 2, near
the Eden Creek Road; No. 3, close to the boundary
of our agricultural lease; others, on the lines of
irrigating races. Storm-channels are No. 1, near
the rear of Home Station; No. 2, near entrance to
dam.
The length of the race is about six miles. Depth
and breadth of race, 2 feet by 10 inches, carrying
two sluice-heads of water. Dam capacity, 8,167,500
gallons.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
To the Mining Registrar at Clyde of the Otago Gold
Fields Mining District, and all other persons whom
it may concern.
TAKE notice that it is intended to construct a
Water-race for domestic and irrigation purposes
-such water-race to be an extension of water-race
held under License No. 916, dated the 29th July,
1880, in the names of Andreas Christen Iversen and
Christen Iversen-commencing at the termination of
said above-mentioned race, on the mining reserve on
Block X., Leaning Rock District, passing through
Sections 2 and 1, Block III., and Sections 2 and 1,
Block I., Fraser District, and terminating in the
Fraser River.
The length of such race is about two and a half
miles. The course, west to east. The mean breadth
will be about 2 feet, and the depth about 1 foot, and
it is proposed to carry one head of water.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A SLUDGE-
CHANNEL.
Orepuki, Longwood District,
Round Hill, 7th September, 1881.
To the Warden at Riverton.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct
a Sludge-channel to convey sludge and tailings
from Round Hill, commencing at a point 200 yards
east of Marsh's Gully to the sea-beach at Colac Bay,
passing through Lake George.
The length of such channel is three and a half
miles or thereabouts, and its intended course is for
about two and a half miles east and west; thence
south-south east to termination at sea-beach, running
parallel with present corduroy road from sea-beach
to starting point at Round Hill, one mile. The mean
depth and breadth of such channel is 33 feet by
29 feet.

Ida Mining District, and to all other persons whom
it may concern.
I HEREBY give notice that I intend to construct
a Water-race to divert and use water for irriga-
tion, chaff-cutting, wool- and sheep-washing, and for
domestic purposes, commencing at a point on the
Swinburn Creek about 99 chains from the northerly
corner of Section 1, Block VII., Swinburn District,
and terminating at the above-named section.
The length of such race is about 120 chains;
and its intended course is north and south. The
mean depth of such race is 1 foot, and the mean
breadth is 2 feet 6 inches, and it is proposed to
divert two Government-heads of water.

I HEREBY give notice that it is my intention to
construct a Water-race for the purposes of irri-
gation, machinery, watering stock, and domestic
purposes, commencing at a point in the Eweburn,
between the short track from Naseby to Eden Creek
Hotel and the Government water-race, about half a.
mile above said track and three-quarters of a mile
below the Government water-race, and terminating
on Section 17, Block II., Maniototo District, passing
through Section 18, Block II., Maniototo District,
held by Jacob Lory under agricultural lease, and
tenanted by John Lory, passing also through the
Mount Ida Pastoral Company's Run No. 206, Manio-
toto District, aforesaid.
Length of race, seven miles or thereabouts; mean
breath and depth, 2 feet by 10 inches; course of
race, south-east and north-west; time of construc-.
tion, nine months; and it is proposed to divert two
heads of water.
