In the Courthouse at Patea, for the despatch of
civil and criminal business, on the Monday before
the second Thursday in the months of January,
April, July, and October in each year.

Provided that in case any of the days so fixed as
aforesaid shall happen to be a holiday, then the Court
appointed for that day shall be holden on the first
day thereafter not being a holiday.

Notice of proposed taking of Land for a Road
(Ferry and Approach over the Manawatu River),
in substitution of notice dated the 22nd September,
1880, and published in Gazette No. 91, of the 23rd
September, 1880.

NOTICE is hereby given that it is proposed, under
“The Public Works Act, 1876,” to execute a certain public work, to wit, the
construction of a road lying between points situate
on the south and north banks of the Manawatu
River, in the Provincial Districts of Wellington and
Hawke’s Bay, and for the purposes of such public
work the lands described in the Schedule hereto are
required to be taken; and notice is further given
that a plan of the said road and of the lands so
required to be taken is deposited in the Post Office,
at Woodville, and in the Public Works Office, at
Wellington, and is there open for inspection:

And notice is hereby given that all persons affected
by the execution of the said public work, or by the
taking of the said lands, shall, if they have any well-
grounded objections to the execution of the said
public work, or to the taking of such lands, set forth
the same in writing, and send such writing, within
forty days from the first publication of this notice, to
the Minister for Public Works, Wellington.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that area in the Provincial Districts of Welling-
ton and Hawke’s Bay, containing by admeasurement
30 acres 1 rood 19 perches, more or less. Bounded
towards the South and South-west by a right line
from a peg marked 4 situated on the left bank of the
Manawatu River about 60 links distant from said
river and about 558 links to the eastward of main
road 833 links, by a right line 584 links, by a right
line 1011 links, by a right line 911 links; towards the
North-west by a right line, 1000 links; towards the
North and North-east by a right line 1610 links, by a
right line 1048 links; and towards the South-east by
a right line, 781 links, to peg marked 4, the starting
point: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less; as
the same is delineated on the plan marked P.W.D.
8624, deposited as aforesaid.

Dated at Wellington, this thirteenth day of
October, one thousand eight hundred and
eighty-one.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of “The Land Act, 1877,” it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief Jus-
tice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Adminis-
trator of the Government thereof, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve
from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auckland,
Marlborough, and Otago, described in the Schedule
hereunder written, for the purposes in the said
Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 121 acres, more or less, being the
northern portion of Section No. 5 of Block XI., Te
Aroha Survey District, Provincial District of Auck-
land. Bounded on the North by Township Reserve,
1271 links; on the North-east by a public road, 3279
links; on the South-east by southern portion of
Section No. 5, 5085 links; and on the West by Sec-
tion No. 4, 5911 links: be all the aforesaid linkages
more or less. For a recreation-ground.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 39 acres 2 roods, more or less, being
Section No. 8 of Block XI., Te Aroha Survey District,
Provincial District of Auckland. Bounded on the
North by Township Reserve, 594 links; towards the
North-east by Section No. 13 of Block IX., 1392 links;
towards the East by a public road in a curve; towards
the South-east by Section 6, 980 links; towards the
South-west by a public road, 2606 links; and towards
the North-west by Section No. 8A, 1420 links: be all
the aforesaid linkages more or less. For a recreation-
ground.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 10 acres, more or less, being Section
No. 8A of Block XI., Te Aroha Survey District, Pro-
vincial District of Auckland. Bounded on the
North by Township Reserve, 2001 links; on the
South-east by Section No. 8, 1420 links; and on the
South-west by a public road, 1410 links: be all the
aforesaid linkages more or less. For a cemetery.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 500 acres, more or less, and known as
Lot 48A in Blocks XI. and XII., Opaheke Survey
District, Parish of Otau, Provincial District of
Auckland. Bounded towards the North-west by
lines, 651 and 5080 links respectively; thence South-
easterly by lines and a road, 16023 links; thence
South-westerly by Lots Nos. 48 and 34, 7034·7 and
1403·9 links respectively; thence Westerly by the
Maungatawhiri Stream to the point of commence-
ment. For the growth and preservation of timber.

All that parcel of land in the Provincial District
of Auckland, containing by admeasurement 40 acres,
more or less, situated in the Otahuhu Survey Dis-
trict, being Allotment No. 55A, Section No. 12,
Suburbs of Auckland. Bounded towards the North-
east by a road-line, 66 links, 175 links, and 3500
links; and towards the South and West by a road-
line in a curve, being the main road from Auckland to
St. John’s College, about 5540 links: be all the afore-
said linkages more or less. As a metal reserve.

MARLBOROUGH.

All that parcel of land in the District of Kaikoura
Suburban, in the Provincial District of Marlborough,
