Election of Members of Board of Conservators,
North Rakaia River District.

HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Govern-
ment has been pleased to appoint Friday, the
4th November, 1881, to be the day for the election of
Members of the Board of Conservators for the North
Rakaia District, as constituted under "The Canter-
bury Rivers Act, 1870;" and also to appoint
LAWRENCE VIVIAN DESBOROUGH, Esq.,
to be the Returning Officer to conduct such elections
under "The Canterbury Rivers Act 1870 Amend-
ment Act, 1881."

Arrangements for First Elections, Borough of Patea.

HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Govern-
ment has been pleased to appoint

DAVID MADAN HARRIS

to be Town Clerk of the Borough of Patea, and also
Returning Officer to conduct the first elections of
Mayor, Councillors, and Auditors of the said borough;
also to appoint Tuesday, the 15th November next,
for the election of Mayor, and Thursday, the 17th
November next, for the election of Councillors, and
Friday, the 18th November next, for the election of
Auditors, of the said borough; also to appoint Mon-
day, the 21st November next, at noon, to be the time
for the first meeting of the Council of the said
borough, and the Town Board Office, Patea, to be
the place of such first meeting.

Notice of Formation of Electoral Rolls.

NOTICE is hereby given that in accordance with
section 8 of "The Representation Act, 1881,"
the Registrars of Electors of the under-named elec-
toral districts have given notice to the Colonial
Secretary that the new electoral rolls for such dis-
tricts are formed.

Those rolls are therefore the electoral rolls for
the respective districts from this date.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following bonuses
will be paid on articles produced in the Colony
of New Zealand, as under :-

SUGAR.
A bonus of one thousand pounds (£1,000) will be
given for the production of the first 125 tons of sugar,
manufactured in New Zealand, from beet or any
other root or plant grown in the colony.
