Land temporarily reserved in the Land Districts of
Auckland, Southland, and Westland.

JAMES PRENDERGAST,
Administrator of the Government.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the
purposes in the said section mentioned:

Now, therefore, I, James Prendergast, Chief Jus-
tice of the Colony of New Zealand, and Adminis-
trator of the Government thereof, in exercise and
pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in
me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily reserve
from sale the land in the Land Districts of Auck-
land, Southland, and Westland, described in the
Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in the
said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 11 acres 2 roods 16 perches, more or less,
being Lot No. 182 of Section No. 10 of the Suburbs
of Auckland, Parish of Waitemata, Otahuhu Survey
District, Provincial District of Auckland. Bounded
on the North by a line, 1365 links; on the East by
a road-line, 850 links; on the South by Lot No. 181,
1365 links; and on the West by a road-line, 850
links: be all the aforesaid linkages more or less.
For a plantation.

SOUTHLAND.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Township of
Gore, in the Southland Land District, containing by
admeasurement 2 roods 4 perches, more or less, and
being Section No. 7, Block I., in the Town of Gore.
Bounded as follows: On the North by Section No. 8 of
said block, 300 links; on the East by Section No. 6
of said block, 175 links; on the South by Mersey
Street, 300 links; and on the West by Ordsal Street,
175 links. As a site for an athenæum.

All that piece or parcel of land in the Southland
Land District, containing by admeasurement 21
perches, more or less, and being part of the Railway
Terminus Reserve, in the Town of Winton. Bounded
as follows: Commencing at a point on the Great
North Road 140 links distant from the north-west
angle of Section No. 17, Block V., of aforesaid Town
of Winton; thence by a line at a bearing of 70° 32',
a distance of 134 links; thence by a line at a bearing
of 340° 32', a distance of 100 links; thence by a line
at a bearing of 250° 32', a distance of 134 links; and
thence by a line at a bearing of 160° 32', being the
boundary-line of the Great North Road, 100 links, to
the commencing point. As a site for an athenæum.

WESTLAND.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by
admeasurement 141 acres 1 rood 17 perches, more or
less, being Reserve No. 242 (in red), Block I., on the
map of the Kanieri Survey District. Bounded
towards the North by Buckland Road; towards the
East by the One-Mile-Line Road; towards the
South by Reserve No. 65 (in red); and towards the
West by Section No. 1205, 3020 links. For a reserve
for lunatic asylum purposes.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
eighth day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-one.

Changing Purpose of a Reserve at Matakohe.

IN pursuance and exercise of the powers and
authorities conferred upon me by "The Special
Powers and Contracts Act, 1881,"
I, James Prender-
gast, Chief Justice of the Colony of New Zealand,
and Administrator of the Government thereof, do
hereby declare that, from and after the day of the
date hereof, the following piece or parcel of land in
the Parish of Matakohe, Provincial District of
Auckland, containing by admeasurement 1 acre, more
or less, and described in the Schedule hereto, is and
shall be changed from an educational reserve to a
reserve as a site for a public cemetery.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that piece or parcel of land bounded towards the
North-east by Allotment No. 37, 341 links; towards
the South-east by Allotment No. 37 aforesaid, 400
links; towards the South-west by a road, 159 links;
and towards the North-west by a road, 439 links: as
the same is more particularly shown on the official
map in the Survey Office, Auckland.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Administrator of the Government, this
eighth day of October, one thousand
eight hundred and eighty-one.
