Notice of Intention to alter Boundaries of Avon and
Riccarton Road Districts, County of Selwyn.

HIS Excellency the Administrator of the Govern-
ment directs it to be notified, in pursuance of
the provisions of "The Canterbury Roads Ordinance
Amendment Act, 1877," that he has received a peti-
tion praying that the boundaries of the Avon and
Riccarton Road Districts, County of Selwyn, be
altered as described in the Schedule hereto.

Two months from the date of the first issue of this
notice the said petition, and any counter-petitions
which may be received, will be dealt with in the
manner prescribed by section 2 of "The Canterbury
Roads Ordinance Amendment Act, 1877."

SCHEDULE.

PROPOSED BOUNDARIES OF AVON ROAD DISTRICT.

ALL that area in the Provincial District of Canter-
bury, situate in the Christchurch Survey District, and
bounded towards the West, North-east, and East by
the Waimakariri River, from a point at which the
western side of Treleaven's Road produced inter-
sects its right bank to the ocean, by the ocean to the
mouth of the River Avon; towards the South-east
and South by that river and the City of Christchurch
to a road south-west of Section No. 6; again towards
the West by that road and a road forming the north-
western boundary of Section No. 7, by the River
Avon, by Section No. 242, a road-line, Sections Nos.
453, 2382, a road-line, Sections Nos. 1101, 2200, and
road, and by the western side of the North Road
and Treleaven's Road to the commencing point: as
the same is delineated on the plan deposited is the
District Survey Office, Christchurch.

PROPOSED BOUNDARIES OF RICCARTON ROAD
DISTRICT.

All that area in the Provincial District of Can-
terbury, situate in the Christchurch Survey Dis-
trict, and bounded towards the North-west by the
River Waimakariri, from the north-west corner of
Section No. 7449 to the Avon District, hereinbefore
described; towards the East by that district, by the
River Avon, and the City of Christchurch to the
Lincoln Road; towards the South-east by that road
to Archer's Bridge; towards the South-west by the
Lincoln and Riccarton Junction Road, the Great
South Road, and the Harewood Road by Riccarton;
and again towards the North-west and towards the
West by the Prebbleton and Kaiapoi Junction Road
to starting point: as the same is delineated on the
plan deposited in the District Survey Office, Christ-
church.

Application for Registration of a Trade Mark.

NOTICE is hereby given that EDWARD WATERS,
Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of
Victoria, has applied, on behalf of THE CALCUTTA TEA
ASSOCIATION, of 26, King Street, in the City of Mel-

bourne and Colony of Victoria, to register, under
"The Trade Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of
which the following is a description, viz. :-

Description of Trade Mark.

The combination of four designs, all printed on
what is intended to be used as a wrapper for pack-
ages of tea. The first, which is printed in the reverse
way to the others, consists of the representation of
an Indian tea estate, the words "The Calcutta Tea
Association's Pure Indian Teas" being at the top, and
in the bottom right-hand corner are the words
"Indian Tea Estate;" the second consists of the re-
presentation of an elephant, a camel, and several
horses, together with their riders, who are armed with
spears, passing amongst tropical vegetation; the
third consists of the representation of an Indian
palace with a lake in the foreground, below the
palace are the words "The Calcutta Tea Association's
Pure Indian Teas;" and the fourth is a scene in the
Indian jungle, and represents the head of a tiger
protruding from amongst the undergrowth in the
lower left-hand corner, whilst in the background are
seen the heads of two elephants, sitting on the neck
of each of which is a driver, and behind him a howdah.
On a band passing diagonally across the representa-
tion are the words "The Calcutta Tea Association's
Pure Indian Teas."

Nature of the Article to which it is intended such
Trade Mark shall apply.

of JAMES LOGAN WILSON, of Ryal Bush, Invercargill,
in the said colony, to register, under "The Trade
Marks Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the
following is a description:-
