NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.

mining purposes, commencing at a point about 60
chains east of Trig Station F, Otara District, and
terminating at the gold-workings now being worked
by me, about 25 chains north-north-west of the said
Trig. Station F.
The length of such race is 75 chains or thereabouts,
and its intended course is westerly.
The mean depth and breadth of such race is 3 feet
and 2 feet 6 inches respectively, and it is proposed to
divert 2 1/2 Government-heads of water.

Waimea, 5th August, 1881.
To the Warden at Goldsborough.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct
a Water-race to divert and use water for
mining purposes, commencing at a tree marked H, in
Kapitea Creek, 1 1/2 miles above Greenstone Road,
south side of said road, taking water from Kapitea
Creek; also taking in one head of water from the
following side streams on its course, namely,
Akaroa Gully, Duffer's Gully, and Greek's Gully
No. 1, and terminating at applicant's dam No. 5054,
on Fitzhenry's Terrace, middle branch of Waimea
Creek.
The length of such race is three and a half
miles or thereabouts; and it is intended course is
S.E. by N.W.
The mean depth of such race is 3 feet 6 inches, and
the mean breadth is 4 feet 6 inches, and it is proposed
to divert ten Government-heads of water.

NOTICE OF INTENTION TO USE DAMS.
Otara, 12th September, 1881.
To the Commissioner of Crown Lands, Dunedin.
HEREBY give notice that I intend to use three
dams constructed by me in Otara District, and to
apply for a license to use the same. Area, 1 acre
each.
The first of these dams is situated about 15 chains
north of Trig. Station F, Otara District; the second
is 25 chains north of the same point; and the third
25 chains north-east of the same point.

chains east-north-east of Trig. F, Otara District, and
terminating at the workings now being worked by me
about 25 chains north-north-west of the said Trig. F.
The length of such race is about 80 chains, and its
intended course is westerly.
The mean depth and breadth of such race is 3 feet
and 2 1/2 feet respectively, and it is proposed to divert
2 1/2 Government-heads of water.

MINERAL LEASE FORFEITED.
IN accordance with section 21 of the Mineral Lease
Regulations under "The Mines Act, 1877," it is
hereby notified that the mineral lease of Section 21,
Block I., Cromwell, granted in favour of Edward
McNultz, jun., and William Winter, has been
declared forfeited, and that the ground comprised in
such lease is open to applicants for a lease or license
or other interest which may be lawfully granted in
the said ground, as if no lease of the said ground had
ever been applied for.
