Mining Notices.
NOTICE OF INTENTION TO CONSTRUCT A WATER-
RACE.
Totara, 29th August, 1881.
To the Mining Registrar, Totara District.
WE hereby give notice that we intend to construct
a. Water-race to divert and use water for the
purpose of driving machinery for a saw-mill, com-
mencing at the forks of Granite Creek, about 30
chains above the Ross and Hokitika Road, and ter-
minating at the Granite Creek Company's Saw-mill,
3 chains below the Ross and Hokitika Road, Granite
Creek.
The length of such race is half a mile or there-
abouts, and its intended course is east and west
nearly. Time required for construction and com-
pletion, eight weeks.
The mean depth of such race is 1 foot 6 inches,
and the mean breadth is 2 feet; and it is proposed
to divert four Government-heads of water.
