of your Despatch No. 22 of the 16th May last, and
to inform you that Her Majesty will not be advised
to exercise her power of disallowance with respect to
the Act of the Legislature of New Zealand, No. 38
of 1880, entitled "An Act to amend and consolidate
the Law relating to the Native Land Court," a
transcript of which accompanied the despatch of the
Officer Administering the Government, No. 59, of the
10th September last.

Patent Agent, of Melbourne, in the Colony of
Victoria, has applied, on behalf of DAVID RANKEN
SHIRREFF GALBRAITH, of Edinburgh, in the County of
Midlothian, North Britain, Analytical and Consulting
Chemist, to register, under "The Trade Marks Act,
1866," the trade mark of which the following is a
description :-

Description of Trade Mark.
A representation of a vine leaf, on which are the
words "Galbraith's Grape Food, Grape Solids, or
Grape Powder."

NOTICE is hereby given that JOSEPH HATCH, of
Invercargill, in the Colony of New Zealand,
Chemist, trading as JOSEPH HATCH AND COMPANY,
has applied to register, under "The Trade Marks
Act, 1866," the trade mark of which the following
is a description :-

Description of Trade Mark.
A label printed in black ink on paper of various
colours, or, in the case of transposing the same on
drums and casks, a stencil-plate used with white
paint on a dark ground of carbonate-of-iron paint
on drums, and on the head of casks in black paint
on a white ground. In the case of the labels the
border is printed, and on drums the border also
shows; on the heads of some casks the border is
not shown, there being no room for the same.
The whole label or stencil-plate is, including a
plain border (leaving spaces to keep stencil-plate
together), about 13 inches in width and 13 inches
deep, having thereon a sheep 2 3/4 inches from the top
of the same through which that portion of a cross
enabled to be seen by the sheep standing in front of
it; on the left-hand side of the cross is the letter
"J" on the top, and the letter "I" at the bottom;
on the right-hand side of the cross is the letter "H"
at the top, and the letters "Co." at the bottom; on
the left-hand side of the sheep is the word "Trade,"
and on the right-hand side of the sheep is the word
"Mark." In these two words the letters are 3/8 inch
long. Over the sheep, the cross, letters, and the
words "Trade Mark," are the words "Wilson's
Colonial" in a half-circle, and which letters are
3/8 inch long, and underneath the sheep is the word
"Dip" in letters 1 inch long; underneath the word
"Dip" the words "Sole Manufacturers," in letters
3/8 inch long; after which the name "J. Hatch & Co.,"
in letters 1 inch long; and at the bottom "Invercar-
gill," in letters 3/8 inch long, are printed.
