Fixing Date of Sitting of Circuit Court at
Hokitika.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
eighth day of September, 1881.
Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS by "The Supreme Court Act, 1860,"
it is enacted that there shall be held Circuit
Courts for the despatch of civil and criminal busi-
ness of the Court before one of the Judges thereof,
at such places and times as the Governor in Council
may from time to time appoint:

Now, therefore, His Excellency the Governor of
the Colony of New Zealand, by and with the advice
and consent of the Executive Council of the said
colony, in pursuance and exercise of the power and
authority vested in him by "The Supreme Court
Act, 1860," doth hereby appoint that there shall be
held in the Westland District, at the Supreme Court-
house at Hokitika, on Monday, the twenty-sixth
day of September instant, at ten o'clock in the fore-
noon, a Circuit Court for the despatch of civil and
criminal business of the said Court.

Public Domains Act, 1865," and "The Public Re-
serves Act, 1877," certain powers were, in respect
of certain lands referred to in a further Order in
Council of the same date, made and issued under
"The Public Reserves Act, 1877," aforesaid, dele-
gated to Arthur Brown, James Boyer Brown, John
Adolphus Cohen, John Collins, Charles Drumgoold,
Benjamin Harris, and John Poland:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by virtue
and exercise of the powers and authorities vested in
me by "The Public Domains Act, 1860," aforesaid,
and by and with the advice of the Executive Council
of the said colony, do hereby revoke the Order in
Council delegating the Governor's powers to the
above-named persons; and do hereby further dele-
gate, in respect of the lands referred to in the afore-
said Orders in Council, all the powers conferred by
"The Public Domains Act, 1860," except the powers
under or conferred by subsections five and ten of
section five, and section eleven, to the under-
mentioned persons, who shall be known as the
Tuakau Domain Board:-

ARTHUR HUDSON BROWN,
JAMES BOYER BROWN,
JOHN ADOLPHUS COHEN,
JOHN COLLINS,
CHARLES DRUMGOOLD,
BENJAMIN HARRIS, and
JOHN POLAND

(herein referred to as "the Board"), subject to the
stipulations hereinafter contained, that is to say, -

  1. The Board shall meet for the transaction of
    business on the first Saturday in each month, at
    seven o'clock p.m., at the Tuakau School, or at such
    other time or place as may from time to time be
    fixed by the Board. The first meeting shall be held
    on Saturday, the seventeenth day of September, one
    thousand eight hundred and eighty-one.
  2. Special meetings may be convened by the Chair-
    man, or by any two members of the Board, provided
    that two days' notice of such meeting be given to
