All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 10 acres, be the same more or less,
situated in the Land District of Nelson, being Sections
Nos. 17 and 18, Block II., Kawatiri Survey District,
and bounded as follows: On the North-westward by
a public road, 1000 links; on the North-eastward by
a public road, 1000 links; on the South-eastward by
Crown land, 1000 links; and on the South-westward
by Section No. 16, Block II., Kawatiri District, 1000
links. For a cemetery.

CANTERBURY.

All that parcel of land at Sumner, Provincial
District of Canterbury, containing 2 roods, more or
less, known as the Cave Rock; and numbered 2507
(in red) on the official map in the Survey Office,
Christchurch. As a site for a signal-station.

As witness the hand of His Excellency the
Governor, this thirty-first day of August,
one thousand eight hundred and eighty-
one.

Exchange of Land in the Provincial District of
Canterbury.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

W HEREAS by the one hundred and forty-eighth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," power is
given to the Governor to exchange any land set apart
as a reserve for other land of equal value as he may
think fit, and to make a Crown grant thereof ac-
cordingly:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in exercise
of the powers and authorities vested in me by the
said Act, do hereby declare that the land mentioned
in the first column of the Schedule hereto shall be ex-
changed for the land mentioned in the second
column of the said Schedule.
