Vesting a Reserve in Manawatu County Council.

ORDER IN COUNCIL.

At the Government House, at Wellington, this
fifth day of September, 1881.

Present:
HIS EXCELLENCY THE GOVERNOR IN COUNCIL.

WHEREAS the land mentioned in the Schedule
hereto was reserved for ferry purposes: And
whereas, in the opinion of the Governor, it is ex-
pedient to vest the said land in the Chairman,
Councillors, and inhabitants of the County of Mana-
watu:

Now, therefore, the Governor of the Colony of
New Zealand, by and with the advice and consent of
the Executive Council of the said colony, and in
exercise of the powers and authorities vested in him
by the sixth section of "The Public Reserves Act
Amendment Act, 1878," doth hereby declare that,
from and after the day of the date hereof, the said
reserve shall become vested in the said Chairman,
Councillors, and inhabitants of the County of
Manawatu, in trust for ferry purposes.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Wellington, containing by admeasurement 44 acres,
being Section No. 269 on the plan of the Township
of Foxton. Bounded towards the North by un-
surveyed land; towards the South-east by a road-
line; and towards the South-west and North-west
by unsurveyed land: as the same is delineated
on the map deposited in the office of the Chief Sur-
veyor, Wellington.

Auckland, Nelson, and Canterbury.

ARTHUR GORDON, Governor.

WHEREAS by the one hundred and forty-fourth
section of "The Land Act, 1877," it is enacted
that the Governor may from time to time, either by
general or particular description, and whether the
same has been surveyed or not, reserve from sale
temporarily, notwithstanding that the same may be
then held under pastoral license, any Crown lands
which, in his opinion, are required for any of the pur-
poses in the said section mentioned :

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon,
the Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, in
exercise and pursuance of the powers and authorities
vested in me by the said Act, do hereby temporarily
reserve from sale the land in the Land Districts
of Auckland, Nelson, and Canterbury, described in
the Schedule hereunder written, for the purposes in
the said Schedule specified.

SCHEDULE.
AUCKLAND.

ALL that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 15 acres 2 roods, more or less, and
being called or known as the north-west portion of
Lot No. 92 of Block VII., Patutahi Survey District.
Bounded towards the North-east by Lot No. 92,
1250 links; towards the South-east by the aforesaid
Lot No. 92, 1250 links; towards the South-west by
a road, 1250 links; and towards the North-west by
a road, 1250 links: be all the aforesaid linkages more
or less. For a school-site.

NELSON.

All that piece or parcel of land containing by ad-
measurement 5 acres, be the same more or less,
situated in the Land District of Nelson, being part
of Section No. 43, Block VIII., Kawatiri Survey
District, and bounded as follows: On the North-
