Land taken for Road in Waipori Road District,
County Taieri.

A PROCLAMATION.

WHEREAS the land described in the Schedule
hereto is required to be taken under "The
Public Works Act, 1876," and "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," for a certain work,
to wit, the construction of a road through Sections
fourteen and one of sixteen, Block two, Sections
nine and eighty-four, Block six, Maungatua District,
County Taieri, Otago:

And whereas the Waipori Road Board has laid
before the Governor the memorial and map men-
tioned in and signed and certified as required by the
said Acts:

Now, therefore, I, Arthur Hamilton Gordon, the
Governor of the Colony of New Zealand, by and
with the advice and consent of the Executive Council
of the said colony, in exercise and pursuance of the
powers and authorities in me vested by sections
twenty-one, twenty-two, twenty-three, twenty-four,
and twenty-five of "The Public Works Act, 1876,"
and by section twenty-eight of "The Public Works
Act 1876 Amendment Act, 1878," and of any other
power and authority enabling me in that behalf, do
hereby proclaim and declare that the land described
in the Schedule hereto is hereby taken for the
purposes of a road; and that, from and after the
eighteenth day of August, one thousand eight hun-
dred and eighty-one, the land so described shall
become absolutely vested in fee-simple in Her
Majesty, discharged from all mortgages, charges,
claims, estates, and interests of what kind soever, for
use as a road.

SCHEDULE.

ALL that parcel of land in the Provincial District of
Otago, Taieri County, containing by admeasurement
1 acre and 6.4 perches, more or less, situated in the
Maungatua District, being portion of Section 14,
Block II., commencing at a point distant 1021 links
on southern boundary of Section 14, from south-
eastern corner of said section; thence by a line
running in a north-westerly direction for a distance
of 1057 links; thence by a line running in a south-
westerly direction for a distance of 100 links; thence
by a line running in a south-easterly direction for a
distance of 992 links; thence by a line running in a
north-easterly direction for a distance of 115 links
to starting point.

Also all that parcel of land in the Provincial
District of Otago, Taieri County, containing by
admeasurement 1 acre and 9 perches, more or less,
situated in the Maungatua District, being portion of
Section 1 of 16, Block II., commencing at a point
distant 5117 links from north-east corner of Section
1 of 16; thence by a line running in a north-
westerly direction for a distance of 1060 links;
thence by a line running in a south-westerly direc-
tion for a distance of 100 links; thence by a line
running in a south-easterly direction for a distance
of 1066 links; thence by a line running in a north-
easterly direction for a distance of 100 links to start-
ing point.

Also all that parcel of land in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Otago, Taieri County, containing by ad-
measurement 3 acres 1 rood 32 perches, more or less
situated in the Maungatua District, being portion of
Section 9, Block VI., commencing at a point distant
124 links from north-west corner of Section 9;
thence by lines running generally in a south-easterly
direction for distances of 2931, 171, 169, 101 links, to
Government Reserve; thence along reserve for a
distance of 106 links; thence by lines running
generally in a north-westerly direction for distances
of 123, 212, 215, and 2781 links; thence by a line
for a distance of 190 links to starting point.

Also all that parcel of land in the Provincial Dis-
trict of Otago, Taieri County, containing by ad-
measurement 3 roods 32 perches, more or less,
situated in the Maungatua District, being portion of
a Government Reserve, Section 84, Block VI., com-
mencing at a point distant 4231 links, and bearing
118° 37′ 30″ from Trig. Station B; thence by a line
