RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE MANAGEMENT
OF THE WAIROA CEMETERY.

  1. The Trustees appointed under "The Cemeteries
    Management Act, 1877," shall have the entire control
    and management of the Wairoa Cemetery.

  2. The Trustees having power to allocate portions
    of the cemetery to the various religious denomina-
    tions requiring the same, no interference will be
    permitted with such allocations. A portion of the
    cemetery will be set apart for purposes of general
    interment.

  3. Persons desirous of obtaining an exclusive right
    in any plot of ground in the cemetery for the pur-
    pose of making graves or family vaults, or erecting
    monuments, may do so at the following rates:--

Such persons shall receive a receipt in the follow-
ing form, signed by the Chairman and one of the
Trustees:-

WAIROA CEMETERY.

RECEIVED from A.B., of , the sum of , for that
piece of ground ( feet by feet), part of the Wairoa
Cemetery, numbered on the plan of the cemetery in the
custody of the Trustees; the said piece of ground to be held by
the said A.B. subject to the rules and regulations for the time
being in force for the management of the said cemetery.

  1. Applications for this purpose may be made to the
    Chairman or Trustees, or other person authorized by
    them to receive the same.

  2. Every burial-plot shall be 10 feet by 4 feet,
    and every grave shall be 5 feet in depth at the least.
    In the event of the purchaser of private ground
    desiring a greater depth, an extra charge of 2s. shall
    be made for every foot more than 5 feet.

  3. All railings or erections of any kind shall be
    subject to the approval of the Trustees.

  4. Any purchaser of private ground may transfer
    his or her interest therein to any other person upon
    payment of a fee of 5s. for such transfer.

  5. A plan of the cemetery shall be kept, showing
    the plots as laid off in the several divisions, and each
    plot shall have a separate number on the plan.

  6. A book shall be kept in which shall be entered
    the number of every plot sold, the name of the pur-
    chaser thereof, together with the date of the sale or
    transfer of the same. A register shall also be kept
    of all burials in the cemetery, which register shall be
    open for the inspection of the public free.

  7. In all cases of intended interment the person
    having the management or control of the same shall
    apply to the Chairman, or other duly-authorized
    person, for a warrant for such interment, which
    warrant shall be granted upon payment of the follow-
    ing fees:--

Reopening a grave or vault, £1.

  1. Such portion of the foregoing fees as would
    accrue to the funds of the cemetery may be remitted
    on proof being given to the satisfaction of the Trustees
    that the person for whom the application for inter-
    ment is made was a pauper or in poor circumstances
    at the time of his or her death, and that there are
    not sufficient funds applicable for the purpose, and
    that no person is liable for payment of such costs
    and charges.

  2. Orders for interment must be given at least
    six working hours prior to the hour fixed for the
    funeral, otherwise an extra charge of 1s. 6d. for each
    hour or fraction of an hour less than six hours will
    be made.

the Wairoa Cemetery, held on the 23rd day of June,
1881.
