Regulations for the Oxford Cemetery, County of
Ashley.

THE following regulations for the management of
the Oxford Cemetery, having been submitted to
His Excellency the Governor in Council, are pub-
lished in accordance with "The Cemeteries Manage-
ment Act, 1877."

THOMAS DICK.

RULES AND REGULATIONS FOR THE MANAGEMENT
OF THE OXFORD CEMERERY.

  1. All cheques, and titles to ground, to be signed
    by the Chairman and two members of the Board.
  2. Three members of the Board to form a quorum;
    the Chairman to have an original as well as a casting
    vote.
  3. The Chairman to receive all moneys due to the
    Board, and to pay same to proper account.
  4. The Chairman to mark the number of plots (if
    purchased), together with the name of deceased, or of
    persons to whom the plot is allotted, and colour the
    same in red upon cemetery map.
  5. Special meetings may be called by the Chair-
    man at any time by giving three clear days' notice.
  6. The cemetery shall be placed under the care of
    a sexton, who shall be appointed by the Board, and
    shall give or receive one month's notice before retire-
    ment from office.
  7. For every funeral the sexton's fee shall be
    7s. 6d. for children under fifteen years of age, and a
    cemetery fee of 7s. 6d.; and for every adult the fee
    shall be 10s., and a sexton's fee of 10s.; and extra
    charge of 2s. 6d. per foot shall be made for every
    grave beyond the depth of six feet.
  8. No memorial of any kind shall be erected, nor
    any plot considered sold, until payment of the same
    shall have been made at the following rates, viz.:
    Walled graves or vaults, 10s. per square yard, and a
    cemetery fee of Β£2. The soil to be removed at the
    expense of the purchaser of the plot. No hewing or
    working of stone permitted within the cemetery.
    Common graves, 5s. per square yard, and fees as
    stated in By-law 7.
  9. No transfer of burial-plots is allowed to take
    place without the permission of the Board, and for
    any such transfer a fee of 10s. shall be paid to the
    Board.
  10. No monument, memorial, railing, or erection
    of any kind shall be put up, no inscription placed on
    any memorial, no trees planted, without the permission
    of the Board; and any monument, tablet, or other
    erection built or erected without the written consent
    of the Board, or if any fees remain unpaid, or the
    regulations of the Board be not complied with, the
    Board may take down and remove such monuments,
    tablets, or erections.
  11. No graves to be dug by any person without
    the consent of the Board.
  12. Only when persons shall have purchased the
    ground shall they be allowed to choose the site; and
    when the ground be not purchased the graves shall
    be put in regular lines, as shown on plan.
  13. In all cases where land is purchased a fractional
    part of a yard shall be charged a yard.
